- As we know, the Opie & Anthony show embraced bombs nearly as much as they did for jokes that worked. Here is a collection of 50 moments Opie, Anthony, or Jim bombed, and the subsequent reaction from others in studio.
Average clip is around 1 minute 30 seconds. The last clip is 12 minutes, Anthony bombs and they read instant feedback and take calls from listeners who all rip on him.
Sitting in studio for a few of these bombs were Rich Vos, Louis CK, Bill Burr, Bob Kelly, Patrice Oneal, Mike Birbiglia, and a few others.

Bombs & Flubs was a running segment on O&A where the show collected a bunch of clips similar to these and reviewed them 1 by 1 at a later time.

One of my favorite moments in the show it was either Danny or Travis who threw out a bomb and Norton was like, "Wait I didn't hear you." and they repeat it and he goes "I heard it I just wanted it to bomb twice."
James Thomison I know that moment! It was Ben who bombed and Norton duped him into repeating his bomb. That moment is about 3 minutes into a massive, 3 hour long bombs and flubs compilation.

Don Rickles was so good at making his bombs work for him. A joke would bomb, then he would joke about the bomb and still get the laugh.

There’s no other show in entertainment that can entertain the audience with failure, and be just as entertaining when the jokes are a success.
Jimmy is a prime example of how loveable people are when they celebrate their fault and embrace humility. If only Opie could've taken note...

I love how Opie seems to think that the only thing wrong with his jokes is his delivery. The joke itself was hilarious, but dang my delivery ruined it.
Or he attempts to explain the truthfulness of his joke as if that makes it funnier.
The biggest problem with Opie is that he's only funny if he dials the delivery way back and subtly moves the bit along or just goes all in with the shock jock persona like back in the old days. Most of the time however, he tries to follow Ant and Jimmy and he just can't because he's not naturally funny or balanced. It's those moments that gave him the title of "bit killer".

His "blueburries" and extending the S on the end of words, pronouncing things in a stupid way, it's all the exact same as when he was trying to make "brotherman" a thing. He's one viral video away from making the bigtime guys!

Thanks, I'm glad you and some others enjoy it. I usually focus it on "news"worthy clips from the shows, drama stuff, and some interviews/other clips, but I have a shit ton of old O&A audio so when I find stuff that doesn't seem to already be on CZcams I'll definitely get it on here. You might like the O&A Archive I've been working on too!

I listened to O&A when they did the hybrid show on terrestrial and satellite. They would do the "line of the day" and I always found it odd that Opie, more often than not, had the line of the day. I never understood it. I wondered if whatever he'd said had something to do with stuff that happened before I listened or if it was just something I didn't get.

Looking through my old externals trying to dig up more stuff from BiteMyTorrent WOTW clips to share on this channel. There's thousands of clips but -- only looking for what's fresh forY ouTube. Even the most obscure clips I come across already got uploaded back in the prehistoric CZcams 15min video limit stone age... before Steven Knight / Jasonayeityer compilations. Frrrrunkis / Mrmys1900 and that group. Some of it might be worth consolidating into new compilations and reupping, but that'll be a backup plan thing
Will keep looking for more for us though, if I come across more new-to-CZcams stuff it'll be up here for listening ASAP!

This collection really highlights how boring Opie is, 9 bombs out of 10 Opie is just waiting to move onto the next thing. I can imagine him sitting there with his arms folded, looking away as Ant and Jim just have a good time. Listening to certain bits you can really see the writing on the wall.
