  • This video explains and demonstrates the proper use of the contents of your liferaft's Coastal, SOLAS B or SOLAS A Survival equipment pack. The video also shows how a raft's survival equipment can be upgraded by moving to a higher grade pack, or by having additional personally selected items added.
Through dramatizations and interviews with survivors that have used liferafts, survival equipment pack contents are explored in light of the general priorities of the Seven Steps to Survival as they apply in a sea survival situation. The video is divided into eight sections:
    1. Recognition
    2. Inventory
    3. Shelter
    4. Signals
    5. Water
    6. Food
    7. Play
    8. Summary

There's another. It did that in hope
you'll emigrate to the Pitcairn Islands.
As most of the adult men were taken
way and convicted of sex crimes.
I think they are seeking a Rooster.
Is Paul D a fine feathered friend ?

Five years after your comment and CZcams would be completely unwatchable to me without Premium! Unfortunately the increasing censorship is getting close to that point too...

When I was in the army, we would do survival training. People really underestimate boredom. It will drive the toughest guy crazy. I would pack trivia cards in a water tight soap container. They would help a ton during the down times.

In my military unit somebody had an ear collection.
They tear off with just 8 pounds of pull and faster
if you wait for body decay. It won't take long for
ears to curl-up to look just like packaged pork
rind snacking content. I guess that concern may
have prompted him to be white enough to snail
mail them home to his mum . Let's all hope she
      never had a chew.

The reason you don't point the parachute flare straight up is the flare will eventually come down.... right on your raft setting it on fire

I attended AMSEA’s instructor school. Launch rocket flares into the wind so they drift towards your distress position, not away from where SAR resources are trying to localize your position. Aerial flares alert; hand held and floating smoke and candle flares pinpoint your distress position. Or carry to use if you are overboard. Pyrotechnic will extinguish before the parachute reaches the ocean surface.

When in the Army Aviation as a Cav Scout my survival vest I kept extra stuff such as hard candies and gum. It was non thirst provoking. Also I kept a deck of cards as well.

The longest one in what took more than 100 years,
and has been US Government paid work in the last
20 years. to do further than 400 miles. Some Alberta
residents in chairs looking at Google Earth also
discovered an entry into the deepest known in North
America since 2000. Why do I need to sit here
and read about slow people ?

I want the SOLAS A ULTIMO! the one with string connected to land so you can reel your self back in! Or i will settle for the one with a solar radio and gps connected to NASA. BUT...With my luck, I will be on the frequency not monitored due to defunding...lol Hopefully no one ever needs to use theirs. Be safe all!

  • @toruko-ishibravo2zulu679

No. I do not want it on my boat.
    I'm using Liquid Force products.
The longest solo jaunt I've seen
    went from the Spanish Canary
Islands to North Africa in under
2 days. With a small backpack
    for bottled water rest breaks
atop the inflated ride. It also
allows the pilot to hop over an
    obstructing reef or motorboat.

LOL unless there's some porn emoticons on the rafters's manual, I guarantee most amateur civilian sailors would not be intrinsically motivated to drill disaster situations unless there's an instruction sergeant yelling at them all the time what is what.

There is a sea survival training requirement for offshore racers under ISAF racing regulations. Bluewater cruisers will train if they are savvy. Training ordinarily saves lives.
