Is the optical out from TV 5.1? Have you checked any 5.1 speaker testing videos and confirmed whether all the channels are correct?
I think you should try this setup by connecting the optical cable from DTH set top box to the decoder. The optical out from HD DTH boxes are usually 5.1.

Brother you have to select arc output on your tv sound option. Then on 2.1/5.1, press once for 2.1 and twice for 5.1 channel output. Check dth tamil video for better explanation
