Trending Flowers and Plants in 2022, Spring and Summer Collection, Holland Flower Council

The flowers and plants from the two Trend
Collections 2022 have been announced. Hi and welcome into my channel this is,
GreenThumb Philippines, the flower council of holland announces the trending flowers and plants
in the year 2022, These flowers and plants will be at the heart of the two collections
for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2022.
As usual, the collections are each based on a Horticulture Sector Trend.
This has been done on the basis of the trends, availability, and the PR value of the flowers and plants.
And now, Lets start with, Spring and summer Collection.
For the flowers we have.
Milkweed - or Asclepias is a genus of herbaceous, perennial, flowering plants known as milkweeds, named
for their latex, a milky substance containing cardiac glycosides termed cardenolides.
Ox-eye daisy - Leucanthemum vulgare, commonly known as the ox-eye daisy, dog daisy, marguerite and
other common names, is a widespread flowering plant native to Europe and the temperate regions of Asia.
Alstroemeria - Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of
flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae. They are all native to South America although some
have become naturalized in the United States.
Allium - Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes hundreds of species, including
the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. The generic name Allium is the Latin word
for garlic.
Freesia - Freesia is a genus of herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the family Iridaceae, first described
as a genus in 1866 by Christian Friedrich Ecklon and named after the German botanist and medical practitioners.
Yarrow - Achillea millefolium, commonly known as yarrow or common yarrow, is a flowering plant in the
family Asteraceae. It is native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere in Asia and Europe and North America.
And now for House Plants we have.
Brooms - Genisteae is a tribe of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants in the subfamily Faboideae of the legume
family Fabaceae. It includes a number of well-known plants including brooms.
Caladium - Caladium is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae. They are often known by the common
name elephant ear, heart of Jesus, and angel wings. There are over 1000 named cultivars of Caladium bicolor
from the original South American plant.
Campanula - Campanula is one of several genera of flowering plants in the family Campanulaceae commonly known
as bellflowers. They take both their common and scientific names from the bell-shaped flowers - campanula is Latin for "little bell".
Bougainvillea - Bougainvillea is a genus of thorny ornamental vines, bushes, and trees belonging to the
four o' clock family, Nyctaginaceae. It is native to eastern South America, found from Brazil, west to Peru,
and south to southern Argentina.
Scindapsus - Scindapsus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae. It is native to Southeast
Asia, New Guinea, Queensland, and a few western Pacific islands. The species Scindapsus pictus
is common in cultivation.
Oxalis - Oxalis is a large genus of flowering plants in the wood-sorrel family Oxalidaceae,
comprising over 550 species. The genus occurs throughout most of the world, except for the polar
areas.
And for outdoor plants we have.
Sage - Salvia officinalis, the common sage or just sage, is a perennial, evergreen
subshrub, with woody stems, grayish leaves, and blue to purplish flowers. It is a member of the
mint family Lamiaceae and native to the Mediterranean region, though it has been naturalized in many places throughout the world.
Garden Fern - A fern is a member of a group of vascular plants that reproduce via spores and have neither seeds nor flowers.
Cosmos - Cosmos is a genus, with the same common name of cosmos, consisting of flowering plants in the sunflower family.
Hosta - Hosta is a genus of plants commonly known as hostas, plantain lilies and occasionally by the Japanese name giboshi. Hostas
are widely cultivated as shade-tolerant foliage plants.
Columbine - Aquilegia is a genus of about 60-70 species of perennial plants that are
found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere, known for
the spurred petals of their flowers.
