This is an excellent interview. Whether you agree with the Hamas spokesman or not, you come away fully understanding his position. I got the impression that the interviewer was probably disgusted by him, but he remained consistently civil, asked challenging questions to draw out his position, and respectfully let him answer. This interview made me feel sad especially when he was asked about the progress of all efforts to liberate themselves to this point being futile. His expression struck a cord in me. The problem is that Hamas uses these tunnels/bunkers under Shifa as part of their violent activity against Israel. In other words: the fact that there is a bunker under a hospital is not a problem at all. the problem starts when a terrorist organization uses this bunker for it's filthy activity while being protected by the existence of a hospital above. He did a poor job responding to questions, they need a better spokesperson. As an Arab I understand what he is trying to say, but it is clear he doesn't fully see the perspective of the Western audience. In the end he did a great job but when defending the video and other things, there are better responses he could have given. For example an answer to "why not build bomb shelters for civilians" is that civilians should not be targeted anyways for them to have to go to a bomb shelter. Civilians are protected under international law and as such the occupying entity carries the burden of civilian casualties, not the resistance. The interviewer makes it seem that Hamas fighters are invincible in the tunnels, but this is not the case. Fortunately, many of them have been martyred Alhamdullah, but they use the tunnels as an offense tactic to pop out from nowhere drop a bomb on a Merkava and bounce. He should have said Israeli forces are cowards and only attack women and children, but when it comes to fighting the resistance, they flea the battlefield.

I mean, they literally executed people. when this man is confronted with such footage - his response shows that for him there isn't such thing as 'an Israeli civilian'... people in a car can be shot because they might be soldiers, people in a house can also be shot because they might be solders... this guy is the epitome of terrorism.
Ex IDF members are not civilians. Settlers are not civilians. They are occupiers. Not all hamas fighters abided by the rules of war that day and they should be punished. But to claim that most of the casualties on oct 7th were civilians is wrong. They are combatants, extremist settlers AND civilian settlers that were obliterated by tank and helicopter friendly fire (also killing children and incinerating families. Look it up on Israeli media). Israeli bases were raided and those were the main targets.

This interview made me feel sad especially when he was asked about the progress of all efforts to liberate themselves to this point being futile. His expression struck a cord in me. Why #1 were the Palestinian lives not protected/secured for the morning after and #2 Knowing that surely there would be a morning after, what was put in place to stop the bombing and bulldozing of their native sacred land. The resistance and Hamas should have had a wall of resistance built before the Israelis woke the next morning. Shahir Naga is a Prime example of some outstanding Journalism coming in from the region. The problem is that Hamas uses these tunnels/bunkers under Shifa as part of their violent activity against Israel. In other words: the fact that there is a bunker under a hospital is not a problem at all. the problem starts when a terrorist organization uses this bunker for it's filthy activity while being protected by the existence of a hospital above.

I'm astonished by people who think that the goal of overthrowing Israel is a path to peace. Assuming it were even possible, do you believe this could be accomplished without the deaths of millions of Muslims and Jews? If so, how?
He did a poor job responding to questions, they need a better spokesperson. As an Arab I understand what he is trying to say, but it is clear he doesn't fully see the perspective of the Western audience. In the end he did a great job but when defending the video and other things, there are better responses he could have given. For example an answer to "why not build bomb shelters for civilians" is that civilians should not be targeted anyways for them to have to go to a bomb shelter. Civilians are protected under international law and as such the occupying entity carries the burden of civilian casualties, not the resistance. The interviewer makes it seem that Hamas fighters are invincible in the tunnels, but this is not the case. Fortunately, many of them have been martyred Alhamdullah, but they use the tunnels as an offense tactic to pop out from nowhere drop a bomb on a Merkava and bounce. He should have said Israeli forces are cowards and only attack women and children, but when it comes to fighting the resistance, they flea the battlefield.

at 1:58 he says "we didn't have any intention to kill them, that was clear from the first moment". He also puts the blame for the killing on civilians from Gaza who entered Israel through the breaches in the wall. He is obviously lying. First of all: out of 40 locations that were attacked by Hamas - only 10 targets were military bases, the other 30 were civilian locations such as villages, towns, Kibutzim and the music festival. So if 75% of the targets were civilian - how can he claim that the order was "you are attacking the soldiers"?
Secondly - there are TONS of footage showing Hamas combatants (with guns and vests) shooting Israeli civilians, mainly in the music festival. I mean, they literally executed people.

Not all hamas fighters abided by the rules of war that day and they should be punished. But to claim that most of the casualties on oct 7th were civilians is wrong. Look it up on Israeli media). Israeli bases were raided and those were the main targets.
And also, almost all civilian settlers have to serve in the IDF. So every PERSON within the military is fair game. (because women also do their part too)
