  • We already banged in all our posts and stakes, now it’s time to do our fencing struts, tie our fencing knots and pull the wire tight with fence wire strainers. #fencing #fence #fencewire #farming #farmfencing #milwaukeetools #usedmachinery #farmequipment #contracting #contractor #howtoearnmoney #moneymakingidea #hardwork #hardworkpaysoff #money

    Well I think you both made an excellent job of that fence! Great to see how keen Max is to learn how to do every little bit correctly. Terrific job.😊

    Sheep are notorious for getting under wire and we ran a strand of barbed wire under the netting to stop them nipping underneath , just a thought James .

      If it’s tight enough and low enough, one plain strand should be fine. We will put two strands on the top 👍🏼

    Hi James, yoom zackly right don’t have your strut to high otherwise it tends to pull your strainer out of the ground when you pull your wire especially in wet ground that’s why I tend to use box strainer’s cos our ground is fairly damp in places and box strainer’s tend to stay put any way nice tidy job and a pretty helpful workmate👍

      Tis a proper job to be fair. As e say, zackly right place. I’ve never done a box strainer, might try one some time 👍🏼

    Dude leave the barb alone and use 2.5mm HT plain on top instead…..put up sensibly like you are it’ll stop anything Barb will, cheaper, easier to put up, easier to repair if ever necessary and deer don’t get hung in it anywhere near as bad! Worked on a big farm in NZ that ran 600 beef bulls and not an inch of Barb in sight….all 2.5mm plain HT 😉

      Yeah I see your point for sure. But I do prefer Barb myself and I’ve already bought it haha 😂

    The fence looks great , a common problem I see with mesh fencing is the bottom gets overgrown and rusts over time , will you spray herbicide to keep it clear or what do you do ? The sheep will help I suppose , just wondering what your approach is .

    • @finditfixitfarmit
      @finditfixitfarmit  Před 28 dny +1

      Yeah, the grass pull the wire down. The plain strand helps this a bit so the netting does not need to be so low. I was only saying to max that I would like to keep the line sprayed to avoid this. Thanks mate 👍🏼

    Lovely work, those posts and stakes will last prob 5 years before they rot. Creosote are the way forward.

      Yes Creosote posts are great but not cheap. These are UC4 posts and garenteed for 15 years 👍🏼
