- In this video I build a simple breakfast nook and kitchen table out of 2x4, plywood, and pine 1x4 from Home Depot. This piece was for a client who chose to finish (stain) the wood on their own. Got questions? Leave them in the comments!

The way you did the doors was a bit of a revelation, thanks!
The first half of the czcams.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
Great videos, man. They’re so informative - not just on building the actual pieces, but all the helpful tips and tricks!
Thank you so much for the idea. I had my husband make this custom to our space and it came out amazing.
Wow, so much detail in making this and it looks incredible at the end. A true art
This is exactly what I need! Excellent build video, Thx for sharing
Brilliantly done. I am looking for something like this to accommodate more guests in our dining. It was very timely that I could chance upon this wonderful video. Thanks for sharing.
I ran the last section of your vid twice to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me. I definitely saw you turn the table saw off with your foot! Acrobatic woodworking, no less! I'd be flat on my back if I tried this, being over 70 and no longer elastic. Well done! Nice project.
the table is exactly what i'm needing. I have had a banquet seating built. Thank you so much. Mo xx
Nice build and great result but by far the most impressive thing was the ease with which you hop up on your mahoosive table and then work on it as though it’s the floor 😂👍🏻. First time I’ve seen that on YT. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻🍻
Very simple design and joinery that came out nice. Thanks for the video.
I juat got done building my bench based on this videos design this last weekend. I built mine to wrap around my dining room though (two 72 inch sections connected by a 40 inch section). Hopefully I'll be able to start the table this weekend.
I bought a breakfast nook that looks like this but has a back on it too. I could have built it darn it! No CZcams back then though! Great Job! I like how you explain everything and show it so simply.
I really like how you explain step by step 👌🏼👍🏼 amazing job!!
Carpenters are some of the most under appreciated men. To each is own but damn a man that knows how to use tools and build something out of nothing is way more attractive to me than a pencil pusher. Wow. 😻
I gave it a thumbs up because of no pocket hole jig was used in the making of Breakfast Nook. As it gave me an idea on my storage box/Seat. Thank you.
Really cool bench and table set. I like it a lot , may have to build one myself
Great simple design, that I have been looking for- thanks!
I really enjoyed watching this come together 👍
Thank you for the awesome information man. Really simple and informative
Super cool. Excellent design and execution. Thanks!
That is EXACTLY what I want in my kitchen corner. Well done!
mark brinton awesome!! If you have issue with the plans on my website let me know!
@@MakeEverything I will. Thank you this is literally perfect. Top notch.
Can you make me one too?
Beautiful simple project
I love it very much thanks for sharing information
Great video, first time I’ve watched your channel. Subscribed. I watch a lot of the other CZcams makers as well. This is a great channel to find. Your style reminds me of a CZcams maker “legend” who likes to tag his name on everything. You know who I mean lol. Also, that is an amazing work table/tablesaw setup. Amazing. Nice shop man!
Your video is awesome! Clear, concise and amazing!
very nice work... And very informative, thank you so much for that! gonna give it a go for my wife
Nice job man. The large t-shirt fit just great. Best of luck to you
L♥️VE your workshop! Great tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you for fantastic job
Great video... I used this to build the seating my our kitchen.
Well done! Super helpful. Thank you
I may be doing something just like this. Perfect. Great job.
Great job! Thank you for sharing!
incredible work
Excelent build video !
Nicely done!!!
Amazing work
Thank you for giving me the confidence to create a breakfast nook for my new home. I’m excited. Definitely subscribe ‼️🔥
Looks so aweosme bro
Looks great.
Great Video!!! Your shop looks like an old shop around here in Rhode Island!
Good grief, your table saw table , no Lol, is bigger than my entire kitchen and dining room foot print. ( Jealous, Lol)
My son has designed something quite similar for my dining room which leaves a nice clean open feel to the dining room and kitchen. In order to achieve this, I have to totally remove a wall shelf unit from the previous owner. In place of the Open shelving, I will make a wall sized pantry.
Your video is very well lit, good audio, good material. My smaller dining room will become my temporary workshop. I really liked the storage inside the seats. This is A huge benefit .. my current dining room table will become the seat tops.
You have done a remarkable job here. Not only have I learned a few things with pin nailing , I can get a good sense how my own table and seats will look when completed. Well Done ,,
great tutorials. I can see the pattern of working. easy to follow. thanks.
Awesome! Thanks for the channel.
Well done, I learned a lot. Thanks
Good job! Shop is cool af too
My new favorite channel!
+++++
Love it...
Excellent, thanks!
Searching through some videos and i found your channel. Love the information! You have a new subscriber from me :)
I need one of these so nice.
Thank you!
Just started binging on your stuff. Really like it. New sub :)
Turned out really nice, very cool =)
I just completed making this during Quarantine. I didn't add the storage access. I did add a hvac vent and a AC outlet as the bench covered both.
Aha! I love your work 'island'... And how ya clean it lol
who the hell didnt like this
Chris your f@CKIN AWSOME
Thanks Gary!
Perfect
For those asking for pricing, my cost was $573. I did slightly shorter dimensions - 60x66 - which makes for a 60 inch bench and a 48 inch bench. I painted it white. I used rental equipment, so your pricing may be different if you have the right tools. I also used birch plywood instead of pine which added $40. Wood was $214, supplies was $160, paint items were $78, and rental items were $121:
Birch plywood x 2 = $114
Pine 2x4 x 11 = $37
Pine select 1x4 x 7 = $63
Sawhorse = $32
Trigger clamps = $24
Construction screws = $26
Safety glasses = $13
Titebond glue = $9
Sandpaper circles = $16
Door hinges x 2 = $19
Drywall screws = $6
Pin nails = $11
Caulk = $5
Primer = $18
White enamel paint = $42
Paint brush = $17
Miter saw rental = $66
Table saw rental = $56
Checking in with 2021 prices. The total cost is now $2900 😂
What size table did you pair with your bench? Round or square table?
@@rosalynmichelle it’s oval at its 60 inches by 48 inches.
@@schabj3 Thanks!
Great Video nice details... One thing i'd like to note is your hand cuts with the skill saw are crooked.. I use a straight edge rail to make sure you dont get back wobble from the skill saw wanting to rock away from you. Also look into cabinet hinges recessed because the cushion is now gonna indent where the hinges are and create a bump in the seat. I like the way you placed your hinges but putting them inside would be a cleaner look. Keep up the good work everyday is a new lesson... Take Care!
Great project!
What industrial hoover did you use, it's a handy size
On the support column , 46 degree table saw rips for tighter miter edge, packaging tape seems to be best option.
Love this build. Thanks for the video and write up.
Quick question if I may. I saw a lot of screes go in on the top to secure the plywood and to add the supports for the doors. Do you do anything to trt and cover these afterwards? Or do they blend in with paint / staining and end up being covered by upholstery? THANK YOU!!
It was very nice. I was a little surprised you didn’t put the hinges on the inside.
You are amazing
Beautiful!! Do you have a website? I sure could use your services for one of these.
nice job. we can add in that table leg small storage area for some liqer bottels. cut one side of box and add a small door 👍
Nice
what Ryobi tool nailer you use, what do you think of it? also for this build i whould of change the base the be a bit smaller for the bench so you dont hit it so easy with the heels when you sit
Awesome Design. thanks for the free plan. I am planning to build the similar table of size of 36 inch by 42 inch
So what should be the recommended size(width x length) of column and base ?
If you can response as quickly as possible, that would be awesome. Thanks !!
What is the tool holder on your belt on your left hand side? Looks super simple but very handy. Great video as always!
You live in a perfect world. The guy helping you has long hair and is named Mac! haha
Great build....wife sent me this video as an example. But having an issue with sketch download to use as a example.
This is perfect ! My husband and I have been searching for this exact style banquet for our kitchen. Is there a website I can order a build like this ?
Very nice. I made some raised garden boxes for my wife. I'd like to do the trim like you did but I think I need thicker wood. My boxes are about 24 inches tall.(2x12 Douglas fir) any thoughts on the best wood and size to do the framing? I'm not sure and don't want to waste money on the wrong wood... :/
Love this build, what is the total length of pine required for the trim?
Does that glue add much strength with a face grain to end grain joint?
I found the plans for free on your website. What kind of game are you playing here? What kind of hustle is this? SERIOUSLY YOUR TOO NICE! Thank you as this helps a lot given we are on a tight budget for our project.
Great build man. Thanks for sharing :-)
Who the fuck dislike this I absolutely love it man great job
Absolutely amazing! Very clear and simple to follow.
Some of the sounds being fast forwarded drove me mad though. 😅
That's very awesome men
from philippines
This is a major hack job. A carpenter pretending he is a wood worker. it might last a couple years if your lucky.
Did you have any tearout on the top? Did you edgeband the base too? Thanks for sharing!
Thanx for sharing. Really good info. Will it work to only make the holes half thru the table if the table is 1.5 inches thick ???
How did you “wrap” it around the baseboards on the back? Or have that baseboards been cut?
Great job how much was cost in just materials
About how much did you send on the materials for the bench. I'm trying to build an L shape bench for around $100.
Nice. The only improvement I would do is to add flat/hidden hinges (their padding could be stappled to a plank, and the plank on the hindges would be problematic)
how much did you charge the client?
I have some 1/4" red oak paneling, think that is thick enough to use for the sides (not the bench, i'm going 3/4" for that too)?
what kind of dust mask was that you were using?
how tall was the column for the table?
If i wanted to add a back to the bench how would i do that and what would i need?
What kind of power tools do you use/prefer?
Hi Chris...Can you tell me what would be a good replacement for the 2 x 4's since my Home Depot no longer carries the Burrill brand. Thanks so much! Frank
how strong was that miter box for the table? Dont you usually have to reinforce them with splines or something?
Do you take orders? where are you located? Love this
I want something like this for our house. Wondering if it would fit an Instapot inside? I think it's about 15 inches wide. Will this work?
I just purcahse the blue prints, subscribed to the emails, but could not figure out the discount
Nice work. How much do you charge for this complete set? Thanks.
