This was an attack by the Black force lead by Kalkeya. The two princes of the Empire of Mahishmati ( Bahubali and Bhallaldev) were assigned a task to prove their mettle so as to choose the new king between them. Bahubali used tactical war strategies and focussed on saving his people whereas Bhallaldev went all out to fight the battle. The condition was, whoever kills Kalkeya will be announced the new king. Bahubali was ditched at the end as Bhallaldev made the final hit to kill Kalkeya. Later Bahubali was announced as the king because of his war strategies and ideology of caring about his own countrymen. Bhallaldev played the villain character and killed Bahubali at the end of the movie by playing some dirty politics.... Bahubali part 2 is equally cool. Please review that. Regards. The part you skipped as speaking will give you goosebumps. As a tamilian, when I watched in Tamil the dialogue at the end was just brilliant and heart striking. I do not know how it would have sounded in Hindi though, and unfortunately you do not have subtitles as well to understand it. Anyway if you get a subtitle version, the speaking scene is a must watch.

Well you guys should know, the rival army was a tribe and their language was specially made by the film makers. Also, the rotating blade chariot was and actually scientifically possible since it rotates by the movement of horses like a wheel of a cycle moves by paddling. The war strategy and weapons shown in the film were actually used by the real Indian Kings.
This was still the epic and whenever I watch it again and whenever, it will still give goosebumps.
I just hope they didn't think that the 'trash talk' in the beginning isn't an actual language 😂

Like this fight scene's end portion where the enemy throws multiple bodies together, that's comical af, takes away the seriousness element from it. 2nd movie, people flinging from trees like catapults was too funny and diluting to the entire fight. There was a king named 'Ajatshatru' in India who actually made such kind of chariot(With Blades).
All these ideas for weapons have been taken from mahabharatha the epic of India. This movie was originally shot in Telugu a sweet language spoken in Andhrapradesh in south India.. it is termed as the sweetest language amongst all by many revered multilingual poets of india.

Actually that machine shown in the movie which was throwing spherical rocks at a great distance is called shilkantak, shil means rock and kantak means throw. This catapult type machine used to be use in Nanda dynasty in 300 bc but then put out of use as armies grow much smaller and dynamic after some time, it was difficult to carry around place to place during war.The chariot having blades in front was real thing,it also started during same dynasty. Nanda dynasty had 2000 of them in their army. It was the same time Alexander enters in India after his encounter with porus. He listened about Nanda dynasty which was ruling almost all the part of middle India. When he came to know about the size of the army Nanda dynasty has he left.
