    Saw CMI last year once and on their EU show now 3 times, 2x in Germany and once in Hungary
    But the best show was their gig in Cologne on 4th of July
    Just crazy shit
    And Jack Daniels

    NOFX, Pennywise genre is skate punk now... But it used to be call as melodic hardcore.

      Thank you man, I try really hard to bring a fun conversation to y'all. NOFX and Pennywise have never been called melodic hardcore in my circles, it's always been skate punk. I think in Cali it was called melodic hardcore so over in other parts of the world they emulate California. So I guess, to me it's always been skate punk while the rest of the world called it something else, lol

      A few days ago I read on a punk page, on Insta in this case, someone saying that bad religion and nofx took Crossover and mixed it with punk and created something new. It doesn't stop making sense to me. And by the way, does it make sense to you?

      Yeah, a bunch of them took from bands like Suicidal Tendencies and made that iconic 90s epitaph sound. Pennywise, 98 Mute and No Fun At All come to mind first.

    Edit… so I’ve listened to street power, it’s close to ringing my bell on the metalomiter! But it’s pretty good.

    Their political leanings obviously depend on who is asking, anyone left enough would accuse them of being far right, while everyone else is probably glad they're not screaming about politics.

    hey there CMI fan, here, i don't really get the first thing when politics get brough up is your stance against the left. what exactly do you have against leftwing punks & skins? i'm a bit confused how one could opposed in this scene against ideas for tolerance and put actions to words. weird you mention leftwing as the problem first thing up, especially in a case where people confuse skinheads with boneheads. it comes across you're right wing minded that way also, and against the leftwing. but i could be wrong. happy to hear your thoughts. cheers!

    • @thepunkrockreview
      @thepunkrockreview  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I'll have to go listen to what I said bc I don't remember exactly and don't recall being necessarily "against the left" in any way other than being pretty against both sides extremes...

    • @thepunkrockreview
      @thepunkrockreview  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Put a timestamp where you had an issue or question and I will absolutely go check it out. I may have misspoke, said something wrong, or you misunderstood, so I'm totally fine with clarifying. I am 100% not a "conservative" but I am also not a "liberal". I am me. I have feelings and opinions from both sides and I think they both have pros and cons. A blanket statement about either is usually born of ignorance or naivety and youth. I am none of those things. And I also don't know everything, so I'm willing to learn, grow, and change.

      Yeah I've had Adam on twice, he's super cool.
      In response to the original topic:
      Ok, well, I never said the left was the problem. I was saying that I wouldn't cover a right wing band. That I am careful enough about who i would promote that I even stopped covering a left wing band (Anti-Flag) bc they did some wild, nasty shit. Was literally saying I am careful about supporting anyone that does or says shit I can't stand for. In that clip, I was referring to Anti-Flag and how I can no longer cover them or sell their albums at my shop bc of what the songer did. Not sure where you heard anything that would suggest that I'm a "right wing conservative" or that "the left is the problem". You misunderstood some stuff. Go back and listen again, I wasn't saying what you thought I was. Hope that helps clear it up 👊
