People who feel very strongly about their roots should stick to those closely instead of conveniently holding a different passport/citizenship, living in a different city, taking oath of a different country and still claim something else. Calling Beterbiev Dagestani is very insulting because some Chechens like the Akkhi Chechens which Artur belongs to were forced to join Dagestan and not their native Chechnya. Their lands were given to Dagestanis and their situation is sometimes no different than Palestinians. So there is deep hate of the Dagestanis and Russians who stole their land.

Akkhi Chechens relocated to Dagestan at the end of 18th century from the mountains inbetween current Ingushetia and Chechnya. Their place of origin is still called Akkha therefore they are called Akkhi. They have been allowed to relocate by the local rulers of Dagestani origin. Therefore, it's ridiculous to say their land was given to Dagestanis. They were guests that three centuries later forgot they were guests and claim to be the original owners of this land.
@@shamil623 This is false myth by Dagestanis, Chechens have lived in what is now Dagestan since a long time, for example the Chechen prince Shih Mourza Okotsky was namely an Akkhi and he ruled the Aukh region in the 16th century. His capital was called "stariy Okok" which translates as "old Okok" by Russians and it was most likely the modern town of "Shircha-Akka" which translates to "old Akka" and that town is now renamed to "Kalininaul" where Beterbiev is from. We can talk about other teips that have lived in that region longer than Akkhi too but that is a different story. Also the 18th century it was mostly Orstkhoy that moved to Dagestan, not Akkhi who were known as "Okok" by Russians since the 16th century.

Moreover, Chechens themselves continuously claim they didn't have any princes or other aristocrats among them. How come you suddenly found a Chechen prince ha-ha?)) Actually it's true that Chechens didn't have their own princes. Their society never reached this level of development when at some point it gets split into ruling elite (princes etc) and ordinary people. Therefore, Chechen tribes have been partially ruled by Circassian princes, partially by Dagestani princes and partially were self governed.
