    I think everyone kinda missed what this really seems to be for Architects. This whole album seems to me to just be a full opening up of emotion. It’s not them trying to be heavy and dark in each track. This seems to just be them opening up and letting their hearts out, particularly since this is the first album since Holy Hell, their chapter of mourning for Tom. This is really the start of a new chapter. It’s a heartfelt call.

      Beautiful words about a beautiful album. Especially in times like these I personally am very thankful about a piece of music that immerses me into a full range of emotional intimacy and makes me feel less alone with all that's going on. Not everyone gets this from an album like FTTWTE but I love that they found a kind of new emotional approach in this and did what they thought was right and it is right for them and for a lot of people, but of course not for everyone. Thanks for your words on the album, stay safe! 🖤

    • @sarcasm4371
      @sarcasm4371 Před 3 lety +3

      I mean sure. But the style that they did well were the softer songs on Daybreaker. The ones where Sam's voice was the primary instrument that conveyed heartfelt emotion and the background ambience was full of atmosphere. A lot of these new songs are just in that limbo for me of being half good and half bad, and without an identity. I wish it went in more of a Behind the Throne, Flight without Feathers, Unbeliever, and Cracks in the Earth way. I would've loved that, but because it's just half eh and half ok I can't really get into it. I understand what they are TRYING to do with this album, but some of the songs just aren't hitting for me like intended, and that's the problem. I still love the guys regardless, but I feel there was so much potential wasted.

    Been listening since Hollow Crown and love this album, something I thought about today is how the last song on each album is my favourite of the album. Don't know how they keep doing it. But this album is great for me, and that it's their 9th is mind-blowing still.

    I loved the acoustic part as too me it felt like strings feel in an orchestra, and in that way it fit perfectly with the rest of the instrumentation. I feel like if you give the album more spins you'll start to appreciate the new tracks as well!

    as i said on the first video, Architects wanted to go somewhere different with this and they definetely achieved it and i think it was also a closer to "Tom's Era" and that they now wanna go beyond their typical sound, they did sth similar back in 2011 with The Here and Now which also was less heavy and an album many ppl dont seem to like, i personally love it, that was then followed up by Daybreaker which then paved the way for the "Trilogy"

    I think the guitars were supposed to be pretty abrasive. For a band like Architects, i don’t think they just wanted to make a simple acoustic song, they wanted to have a darkness to it. Personally this song sonically feels like a deep pit and the epilogue to the end of the world. Epic with the orchestra but dark with everything else.

    This song was the best possible ending. I get its not for everyone, but it was the perfect fit to the end of the album. This whole album was such a trip, not the most intense album or the heaviest album, but it was overall very cohesive and solid. And ending on Meteor, which is like a "good vibe" song and transitioning to this was just pure ear porn. Im happy with this song. Cried over it a bit, ngl. It's kind of a cliche ending, but im so happy with it. Heavy is fun and energetic and all that, but having some heavy ending on a song that touches your heart a bit feels just divine to me. Perfect job, Architects.

    Unpopular opinion: My fav is actually Flight without feathers cuz it really gives me that chillstep vibe that I’m really into.I don’t really care for Architects’s riffs ever since Holy Hell because it just fell short compared to Polaris (I’d say that Polaris churns out way better riffs than Architects do, Polaris whole discography even surpassed All our gods and Lost forever in terms of riffs) It made me realize that if I want massive riffs, I can go to Polaris. So I’m not concerned with Architects’ riffage.

    It's funny that people say that "Nik should understand that there is more to music than just heaviness and riffs" like dude has an acoustic EP ffs. He DOES know that and he actually says that he enjoyed the song and he would have enjoyed it even more if not for the strumming.

    This song ties up Architects as a whole up to now. The beggars reference, Distant blue, Dead Butterflies. Overall, what a good album. You dont have to like all of it, given that its an experimental album, but you can see how much they love doing music and how they wanted to try absolutely every style of composing, writing, and feeling. Thios is a fucking good band.
