  • Patton Veterans Project is a nonprofit organization that uses collaborative filmmaking as a therapeutic pathway for veterans coping with posttraumatic and other service-related stress to validate their service accomplishments, reduce social isolation, and strengthen family, community and professional bonds.
We’ve hosted more than 50 film workshops at several military bases, VA hospitals, universities, and private clinics both in the US and Israel, enabling more than 1000 veterans from 18 to 80 to collaborate on more than 300 short films expressing their experiences.
For more information on our workshops and how to register for one, visit pattonveteransproject.org.

Thank you all for your service. I was not in the military but I have PTSD from abuse. I was finally offered EMDR therapy and it has been a life changing therapy for me. I can now cope better with my mental health issues and I have more control of it. Triggers don’t bother me as much now. I’ve learned how to cope with and control my reactions to triggers. I hope everyone with PTSD can try EMDR therapy.

I’m a psychologist (not VA affiliated), I’ve treated many vets for PTSD. With the right therapist, it can be done, I’ve seen peoples lives change. Also, with multiple patients we spent months on that belief “other people have it worse than I do, I don’t have it that bad”, meanwhile they are living tormented lives. You deserve support and help too. I’m honored to have helped some servicemembers.
Also about therapy - the no 1 factor of effective therapy is the fit between patient/therapist. If you don’t feel a good fit with your therapist, please try not to let it impact your view as a whole, someone else might be extremely helpful. I’m also aware that this may not be an option for those getting services at the VA.
