He is arguing as if vegans wish for those incidental deaths. We prefer the farming practices to be better, and we try to grow as much food at home as possible, just to avoid that. So we are working towards it and it tends to a point where no animal would have to die for food, lets say animal farms had the same intent, what direction are they heading towards to get animal flesh without killing them ? Similar example: why are we moving towards electric cars over gasoline powered cars when many places burn coal to produce electricity, its because we are heading towards a better / sustainable source of electricity and at that time we will be using those electric cars in a purely sustainable way, but can the gas powered cars produce the same results ?
