Bassline (only) - original song from Funkentelechy Vs. The Placebo Syndrome (1977).
Been saving this one for a while now - one of my favorite Parliament songs, and a blast to play on bass (especially with an envelope filter).
Most sources say Cordell "Boogie" Mosson played bass on this one. I've always agreed - this track is some of Boogie's best work, and has a unique picking/popping style. And as you can hear from the very first note, Boogie proved that Bootsy wasn't the only P-Funk bassist who knew how to use a Mutron!
Sorry for some timing errors - Boogie's hybrid technique is hard to nail!
I'm 59 years old I've been listening at Parliament since I was 13 wizard of Finance was at the top of my playlist coming up as a teenager dude you're rocking one of my favorite songs
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I grew up listening to Parliament Funkadelic. I like many of their songs but the special thing about Wizard of Finance is that I would listen to it strictly because of the BASS!
ive been wanting to learn this on bass forever, thanks for posting! this has helped me figure out how to play it, but i have to admit its taking me a minute to figure out a couple of those speedy walkups/downs
and thanks for the slowed down part at the end, that was really helpful!
