He is a very good actor and worked very hard on the stage. Now we understand why he never had any inhibition to work hard. Very frank and simple to heart. His Kathi Vesham as Duryodhana is very special. He could have been allowed to continue in Margi. anyway whatever happens is for good, now he is an Asan at Kalamandalam. Very touching story indeed !. I hope the newly appointed VC of Kalamandalam will do something to popularise the Kerala art forms like Kathakali, Ottanthullal as well as the traditional instruments like Edakka, Chenda etc among the general public through short term residential art appreciation courses so that more people would be able to appreciate such art forms. Also art forms like Kathakali could be made for shorter durations so as to increase the audience numbers. Something like 20:20 of cricket vs the test cricket. Money would come in for the 20:20 format and once the art form becomes popular , the artists also will get popularity and can get monetary benefits. Probably one could introduce contemporary themes as well as stories from bible or other folk tales etc. One need to make the padas for such new experiments ! That is how the institution grows. Also the university should encourage its faculty and students to do research and come out with new ideas etc !
