As a long time fan of Double Dragon, this makes me super happy.
Yup, this series is why I bacame interested in programming and gamedev :D My first conscious memories are playing Double Dragon 2 at 3-4yo, and beating DD1 even before being able to store memories xD

This is true fan-service right here, everyone obsesses over a character you'll probably see for only 15-20 seconds just because of her abs and what does Wayforward do? Make her a playable character with a fleshed out backstory

I love her design and wanted to play as her in the first game.I always thought this was a new character and had no idea it was this character. I also like how the close friends line is said. Since if you know the history you can say they are indeed very close friends lol.

Got to love the Metal Thrash version of the Double Dragon theme for this reveal. Marian looks like she could face Angela Belti in "Power Instinct" and go toe-to-toe with Angela.
Wouldn't that be so cool to have Billy and Jimmy as DLC characters? Probably a near impossible expectation but well, one can only wish.

Unfortunately they won't be able to do different colors or skins for characters it would take a long time or to hard to animate characters are like 20,000 pixels

@@luigifan001 Even alternate color palettes aren't something they want to do. The director said that they want to avoid characters blending into the background as much as possible.

Considering that double dragon ends with the two brothers fighting to the death over the girl they are trying to save it make perfect sense why she leaves both of them. Those guys had issues. (In another canon one of the brothers orchestrated the entire ordeal).

To be honests if this mentions past canon she is the girlfriend of one of them and literally a close friend to both. I think she just pauses a little before saying that because of that or that maybe they are famous and she doesn't know how to say it. I mean she looks pretty smug after saying it

That was already testified in the first River City Girls.

Not to mention Abobo's appearance in River City Underground. And the Double Dragon statues/references all over the place.

While I am VERY happy that Marian is a playable character, I rather have her being a martial artist than a wrestling/boxing brawler. She was a student/instructor of the Lee brothers' dojo after all.
