Few rock bands have the chops to pull off an instrumental of any quality. As an old fan of 70s fusion, I am constantly impressed with Band-Maid's creativity and virtuosity. Best rock band on the planet now.
Other instrumentals: "Without Holding Back", "Don't Be Long", "Onset (Live)" & they released an instrumental version of their 2021 album "Unseen World". There are also bonus instrumental tracks from various albums of songs that originally had vocals... "Yolo", "Dice" & "Domination" come to mind.
Sense and Unleash from the new EP as well. 😄
There is also an instrumental video for Giovanni.
Also several recordings of their songs that have lyrics, done without lyrics.
Band Maid doing Band Maid things!!
🤘😀🤘
BAND-MAID Trivia: Lead guitarist, Kanami Tono, is self-taught on guitar. She is trained as a pianist. She also has a university degree in economics.
She's a classically trained musician which goes a long way in being able to write interesting music. She understands the depths of musical theory. Most rock and metal bands are garage bands with little or no training, so you often get very simple and flat music.
@@allegorical Classically trained pianist, not guitarist.
Akane, in Japanese hiragana, is 3 characters, あかね. Treat each character as a syllable. Instead of 2 syllable, Ah-cane, use 3 syllables, ah-KAH-nay. Hope this helps.🙂 🤘🤘🤘WORLD DOMINATION!!!!🤘🤘🤘
あ - a - "ah"
か - ka - "kah"
ね - ne - "nay"
MOST Band Maids fans are very helpful in general. Those fans who do speak Japanese often give of their time and expertise to help the ignorant (that would be me), whether by phoenemic pronunciation, translations or cultural insight. Thank you, BRO5558 808 for being another example of this. The Maidiac fan base is (almost always) a group that one is proud to be a part of!
That definitely helps, thank you!
They have four instrumentals, they started with "Onset" and it was only used for live shows. Wasn't originally released on any album nor any music video. But it did get recorded from one of their live shows and it became so popular that they were forced to rethink their instrumental policy. So now they have music videos for "Without Holding Back", "Don't be Long" and this one. If you want to see "Onset" they have the Official Live on their site to checkout.
Where is the DBL MV? I have never seen it
"Go Nuts" was their first but it's unavailable.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed flawlessly in Tokyo as 12th song in the setlist and Band-Maid played it in 12 out of 13 US concerts as 8th to 11th song. Most of the audience at those venues had, of course, already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played this instrumental piece as opening at Aftershock (huge festival in California) on Oct. 9 and at Saitama Super Arena on Nov.6 (as support to Guns N' Roses), I felt very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
They have four official instrumentals.
Onset czcams.com/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/video.html
Without holding back czcams.com/video/5hB4VE0YHQo/video.html
Don´t belong czcams.com/video/PaGeRqMICt4/video.html
From now on
More bands should do instrumentals - I agree. That said, there's a reason they don't do more of them...they can't play like this. Band-Maid rules - World Domination!!
Akane spankin' 16th notes on her kick drum at the start is epic....that's her signal to hang the F**K ON! These girls are the full package! When's the last time an instrumental moved you?
And for something out of the ordinary, Band-Maid performed the "Dawn Winery Theme" with their own arrangement from the game Genshin Impact. There is a video of it here on CZcams.
Amazing song :)
You'd not be suprised at an instrumental if you knew them well :) They have about 5 instrumentals- 3 of them amazing and fan favs- this, onset, and from now on.
On top of that they have done instrumental versions of quite a few of their songs- and this last xmas they released a special version of their last album but all instrumental.
They also did a recent online concert that was all acoustic! Then they have the band-maiko songs with extra traditional japanese instruments- so BM are not afraid to stray from the norm - putting out an MV for an instrumental is no big deal for them :)
This is just Band-Maid doing Band-Maid stuff. They are just that good. Oh, and the awesome drummer, it's Ah-Kah'-Ney.
Onset, Without holding back, and Hurry back are three instrumentals they have recorded.
Band Maid has a few Saiki (Lead V) "Pee" break instrumentals. In fact, during their recent US tour, they played back to back instrumentals, "From Now On" and "Onset" (Try "Onset"). This allowed Saiki to also get a quick nap in, Po! 🦍Btw, Saiki and Miku (Rhythm G, 2nd V, Main Lyricist, Head Pigeon) had vocal polyps removed, thereafter, they began to prioritize their vocal health. Hence, the Saiki "Pee" breaks.🍌
Sure about Miku? Know Saiki did.
Does not ask for margin marking. Honestly curious.
@@jagjag3236 Actually, in the case of Miku, she said she had vocal nodules, which are similar to "callouses" that are evenly distributed at a spot on the vocal folds. Meaning her vocal technique caused a strain that resulted in her condition. Saiki, on the other hand, had a polyp(s), which are like the nodules but like a blister. That's simply the difference. I think the main concern was the possibility that Saiki would not be able to sing again, like forever. As we can see today, she is even better, like a Tommy John surgery, lol! Here's the title for the Reddit thread of Miku's interview, Po! YT doesn't allow the link so you can search the title - Translation attempt at Rolling Stone Japan Interview, Part 1 (Pages 1 - 5). 🦍
@@JK-tz6kk Thank you so much. Now I am better informed.
Previously only skimmed the interview, then put it aside for later reading.
Now time to read it more carefully. Pearls like the one below are not to be missed.
"Kobato: BAND-MAID celebrate like pirates-po.
- What's that, pirates?
Kobato: We drink, we eat, we make lots of noise! We are always told by our staff and the people involved in our productions that it (what we do) is very rare nowadays-po. When we go greet other bands after joint events, in many instances they hear about our fearful after-parties and get scared, so we tried to exercise some self-restraint.
Saiki: Please write down that we are not scary, ok? "
Many of us just recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the BPM’s matched the DB's! 😶🌫Thx, Smitty!
Thanks my man👍
Great reaction! Their instrumental songs are all awesome. I give you a list of them below;
Onset
Without holding back
Don't be long
Also, there is an another epic Instrumental version, which is
Giovanni
Actually, I love their main vocalist, Saiki, but it might be good idea checking all the instrumentals first and then go to the songs with vocals.
Yep. They have three other instrumentals: Onset, Without Holding Back, and Don't Be Long. There is an Official Live Video for Onset and you can find Without Holding Back on CZcams if you look around, but not on Band Maid's channel. I think you'll have settle for a fan's video for Don't Be Long.
"Go Nuts" but it is unavailable.
That's because of the thunder twins and lightning girl doing g things right
Great reaction! 🤘
And... it's A-ka-ne. Who's Akein? 😉
Band-Maid Playing in Detroit May 24th 2023 Saint Andrew's Hall.
Kanami🥰 took the vocals in her own hands on this one.
👍👍👍👍👍
