Yes totally worth it, we installed new oem (expensive) windshield on my wifes x1 there was no aftermarket options available at the moment , then installed exoshield, literally 4 days later something hit the windshield so hard I thought somebody punched it. Only damage was a couple tiny spots on the exoshield, so it already paid for itself right there. We paid 400 , 💯 worth the cost

I can’t imagine how much it cost for a BMWOE glass but yes, it’s hard to argue against the benefits when you get those hard hits on the glass. I can replace the film in a few years have clear vision again when this one gets pitted out.

@@eddiemcars exactly. Glass was 1600 from dealer, but i got it through my bodyshop at 1100, plus 200 to install. Exoshield definitely worth it, mine already paid for itself lol

On top of Xpel ppf and tint, I have Clearplex on all my vehicles. Only way to fly. I want to retain factory seal and factory glass for as long as possible. But understand all of these things are consumables as is the vehicle. On my vintage Land Cruiser, I refreshed the Clearplex after 4 years of use.

That’s great because I always feel like once you replace the windshield, the seal doesn’t seem is good as it was prior to the replacement.

Hey 3MC, does it heal with heat.

No, it’s not self-healing. I believe the film is a little harder than PPF, which does have self healing properties.

Total waste of money. I had it installed on my Tesla Model 3 at a cost of $500. I was driving on the freeway at around 35 to 40 mph in traffic. A very small rock hit the corner of the front windshield and I immediately got a foot long crack.

I had STek DynoFlex on my G82, and I got hit, hard in Walnut Creek, coming back from a cars and coffee, and it hit in the black area under the windshield, and it went right through the Dynoflex. The film had taken some really hard hits, and it had been saved. But, this time, getting hit with a star chip, the size of a quarter, in the black area under the wipers. I had a glass shop fix the chip, for me, for free, but, he said, its still going to crack, because he couldnt get behind the glass, because it was under the dash, inside. Without getting the back side of the glass heated, it would eventually fail. It lasted 2 more months, and I just got the glass replaced, at the dealer, last week. $1,768. I paid USAA the $500 deductible, for OEM glass, a dealer tech actually replaces the glass, and they paid me back the rest of the cost, the next day. I've been with USAA for 29 years, and this was the 3rd windshield I've claimed with them, but I've never filed any other claims. I'm not getting film back on, because I'd also paid $330 to get the inside of the windshield, tinted. I had almost $1,000 tied up in film, that I dont have, anymore.

That sucks man. I got a hard hit on I-80 after the rain. I thought for sure the first windshield would be compromised but luckily it still held up. I know there’s going to be a moment I wouldn’t be so lucky.

@@eddiemcars yeah, it sucked. Worse, I got that temp repair and the car was sitting in the garage for about a week. I came out to drive it, and it had already split away from the star crack, came up into the drivers view, and shot all the way across to the passenger side. I pulled the car back in the garage and called around for a windshield at the dealer. 3 months out. Let the car sit another week or so, came back out to wash it, another crack from the same Star, followed the exact same path, came up, about 3/4 inches above the other one, in the drivers view, and shot all the way across to the passenger side. The cracks looked like 2 upside down Nike Swooshes right above one another. Such a mess.
