The lack of adjustments after first 10 mins is concerning.

What would you have done different(genuinely curious) ? They seemed to have a half-second extra every time they were on the ball whereas we seemed to be rushing out of pressure almost every time

@@dannyangeleno Columbus forces you to make a decision. Either play high/tight or park the bus. Both can be successful against them. We were in between playing high and tight but gave them acres of space on the sidelines which makes no sense. Every time we pressed as a team Columbus struggled to keep possession and would just send the ball up field then we would win it. Its a lot to ask a team to do but you have to commit to one or the other. Since we played a few days ago you could tell team was lethargic and not on the same page. Parking the bus would've been fine, but we didn't do it. Atuesta/Ilie/Duenas were all on different pages defensively. Should've been sorted out early but was never addressed the entire first half and well into the second.

@@dannyangeleno Very similar to mid 2000's Barcelona tiki taka. Teams couldn't decide whether to press or stay home. Barcelona knew certain teams lacked discipline and would crack over time and If an opponent decided to go toe to toe they liked their chances. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this, but Columbus is NOT Barcelona. There's the answer.

@soccerusa2026 awesome response. Similar but not exactly the same issues as last year's cup final

We’ve won so much this might have been good to show we’re not untouchable

Cherundolo seems like a great guy, like a nice person. I just don’t think he’s the right coach for LAFC or USMNT right now. Both teams are evolving and need more advanced managers. This includes faster decision making when it comes to substitutions which reflect how the opposing team is playing, and more advanced tactics. There’s no such thing as a “one formation, win all, type of tactic.” You have to play your team accordingly against who your opponent is. To Cherundolo, it doesn’t matter, he will play a 4-3-3 with the same players, regardless. Teams know this and will exploit those routes since there’s a lack of innovation. This was an example….Despite being in first place, we are not playing “well” by any means. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the players are carrying the club. They are individually very talented and would perform quite well on their own in the MLS regardless of what coach they have. Cherundolo has never had to coach a team which lacks talent while at LAFC, which is why he looks better than he actually is. In Bradley’s last season, we were playing bad because of lack of talent on the team. Right now, we aren’t playing well because of Cherundolo’s descision making. He’s too inexperienced as a coach. He’s only had one other coaching position at Las Vegas lights and that team was abysmal. He has also only assisted 2 other teams and one of those was an under 15 club. I think Cherundolo has potential, but i think he should go to Europe and learn more while taking what he has already learned as a player and while staffing LAFC. If he wishes to return after that, then I think he deserves another opportunity. As of now though, LAFC needs a new coach ASAP to really unleash this teams potential.
