I believe Eddi was the backing singer for Annie Lennox at some point in her career,she performed on some of Annie's well known songs, and I remember seeing Eddi as the outstanding backing vocalist on a live TV show, no detriment to Annie but Eddies voice knocked her into fits.God Bless All Music Lovers .
Eddi was known as 'Ever Ready Eddi' back when she was doing backing vocals, as she'd drop everything to perform. Glad she got a chance in the spotlight, we'd be the poorer if not.

Written and performed by Boo Hewerdine and The Bible in 1993/4 however... they broke up again! so I hared her on the radio and thought who's this woman, ruining the Bibles song...? From then on, its now her song, and of course she has a wonderful voice and a great performer BUT The Bibles "Original" is Much Better!.

I do have a genuine respect for her music, especially so over the last 10 years or so. Having said that, I`m old enough to remember and loved some of the Bible music. Think I bought the album Graceland? Did they support China Crisis at some point on tour?
Hi amc3, Boo Hewerdine wrote the patience of angels and performed it, playing live with The Bilbe in 1993...they broke up again within the year. He wrote & recorded "a wonderful lie" in the same year 93 with Clive Gregson, Eddi Reader did the backing to it... To end I didn't know (I should have, coming from Liverpool) that The Bible ever supported China Crisis...I liked them! best wishes
You need to see a doctor ... if you can get bbc radio 4 extra today at 5-30 there is a programme about the very song (The Patience Of Angel's) and how Boo (Mark Nicolas) Herwerdine came to write the song, He was the lead singer of "The Bible" the mid 80s - early 90s band ... just to confirm, they played and performed it first..
