    if you don't have the slotted 12 mm tool you can access it from inside with regular wrench 🔧.

    Bless You, I recently inherited a Romahome Campervan from my sadly deceased brother. It has seen some service and the heater isn`t working. I tracked down the first fault, a faulty fuse, looked OkK but tested not, silly me, Thought I had cracked it. Nows blows but heater not working but thanks to your kind efforts, I have just ordered a service kit and will tackle it myself. Very Grateful to You, Colin

    good stuff, I just bought a boat that has one of these which is blowing smoke past the exhaust and into the boat so I think the exhaust is loose, this is super helpful, also I found that brittle gasket in the UK for 2.73 online, although it looks like i can only find the screen as part of a kit and that costs 81 bux,

    Great video to watch before the first time I tackle this, thanks for making it clear. No faults showing on the display but it's not heating, I don't know it's history so deffo needs a strip & clean. Have some gasket paper in the man cave. Superb, cheers

      I've managed to cut a new gasket to a nice fit, the gasket was toast as you said. Fell to pieces, cleaned up the gauze that surrounds the glow element.. I noticed that once I split the unit I could use a 12mm spanner to remove the glow plug from inside the casing which was really easy, fingers crossed it works then I'll order a proper gasket/refurb kit or try to find the metal one you used. Thanks again.. I spotted a pipe and silencer box from China on Ebay for £12, if it works ok I'll treat to one of those. The old pipe work is toast also

    How do you propose actually cleaning the unit? Would you advise using carb cleaner or some other type of cleaner, or just an abrasive wire material?

    • @Vagare
      @Vagare  Před 4 lety +1

      My heater hasn't gummed up enough to require much more than a scouring pad. Throttle body cleaner would probably be ideal or carburettor cleaner to a lesser extent

    can I used Diesel Fuel, Supplement/Cetane Boost in my heater fuel to make it burn cleaner , keep it cleaner?

    • @Vagare
      @Vagare  Před 3 lety

      Hey McAlester, although there's no compression to compromise the heater from a higher Cetane rated fuel, I have no clue if a higher Cetane fuel and the resultant higher temps may well have an adverse effect on heater components. People do use Kerosene in diesel heaters, but Kerosene has a slightly lower Cetane rating. My only issues have ever been from the screen and that's from start-up and not so much from running of the heater, so Im not sure an additive would have much effect for me. Be interesting to know which direction you go with this, cheers
