Hotfoot Crater is the penultimate level in our Paper Mario: The Origami King Walkthrough.
Paper Mario: The Origami King arrives on the Nintendo Switch with another cast of colorful characters and grand worlds. This particular entry features a new ring based battle system and the reintroduction of partners in a small sense. Levels are more open than recent entries and each area has plenty of collectibles like hidden toads, not-bottomless holes, collectible treasures, question blocks, trophies, accessories, MAX UP Hearts, and more.

"Dad's not gonna be happy about the airship. His insurance premiums are already so high." Bet Bowser wished he called the little lizard to save a little.
18:44 LOL 4th wall break:D
14:03 this single sequence shot so much fear into my heart holy crap
1:40 that scene gave me the tingle in the good way
I don't know why, but watching Olivia blurt out "The world's on fire" cracks me up.
The music in this episode was kick ass. It looked like aiming was hard to do accurately too.
Yup
Just say to bowser left stick
And this, folks, is why Origami King is the best Paper Mario game thus far. It even tops the incredulously overrated Thousand-Year Door in my opinion. Take that, you toxic normies!
@@themightygallium9509as someone whose favorite paper mario game is ttyd, i just want to say, i love this game a lot. The writing is really good (it's really comedic in casual situations but knows when to get more serious near the end of the game), and the graphics are amazing. I love the puzzle battle mechanics too, especially for the bosses. My only complaints are that:
1. There isn't enough focus on damage values in battle. First strikes do practically nothing after the first couple chapters, and missing an action command when attacking barely matters, because in most cases, mario always finishes the attack regardless of whether you missed the button prompt or not. And even if you do the action command properly, the damage only increases a little bit. I can understand that solving puzzles should make more of a difference than brute forcing damage, but I think the actual "battling" part of battles were just an afterthought to the developers. Speaking of battling being an afterthought:
2. The majority of weapons aren't unique in any practical sense. There's boots and then there's more powerful boots. Guess which one I'm going to use all the time? Not to mention that fire flowers, ice flowers, and hurlhammers all do the same thing in 99% of situations. Burnhammers, chillhammers, and tails are all way too situational to have their own distinct use from regular hammers. As a result, I don't ever have a reason to use any weapons besides the most powerful boots, iron boots, hammers, and maybe hurlhammers if i run into spikes holding spiky balls above them. It's all about raw damage. There's no status effects (except for the crumpled effect caused by pow blocks), barely any enemy quirks that require you to attack in a calculated manner or do any thinking whatsoever. After you solve the puzzle, you're guaranteed to win. You might as well just get rid of battling altogether at that point.
3. Original characters. I'm happy they included more creatures to talk to in this game than just toads, but even the characters that they tried to make memorable just aren't memorable to me. I mean, they tried to make bobby important, but I just didn't feel it, to be honest. There's just something about their distinct physical appearance that makes a character click in my head. Don't get me wrong, bobby and professor toad had entertaining personalities, but they just lacked the icing on their cake due to looking so generic, so to speak.
4. Reason for battling. I don't really feel motivated to fight enemies just for coins. It would be nice if you could equip more accessories each time you level up (also I would like if there were more battle accessories in the first place).
TLDR: I love Paper Mario: The Origami King. My only complaints are the battle system feeling like an afterthought, and the major lack of physically distinct original characters. Even though I feel like those are really important to have in a Paper Mario game, I still think the writing and the gags and the drama and the graphics are charming and fun, so I still really like the game.
@@squid_cake And that's exactly what I'm trying to get at. Legend of the Aeon Gate (as it's called in another country, fun fact) may be a crown jewel among Mario RPGs, but there are some hidden gems that shine just as brightly in a different light, and it doesn't hurt to give them some recognition as well.
Especially Dream Team. Best M&L game of the bunch and yet people would rather play a glorified anatomy lecture.

14:26 The fact that Bowser can tell that Bowser Jr. is capable of taking care of himself
I’m a great father, aren’t I?
@King Koopa czcams.com/video/O9dC2oJeX2M/video.html Yes
@@kingkoopa642 why yes, yes you are.
I literally just played that scene and I loved it so much I closed out of the game to redo it... Thank you junior and kamek, you have done more than enough to help me get here.
Kamek looks so done in the thumbnail 🤣
always excited to see more episodes
Next Stop: Origami Castle
The one level where Junior actually uses his own feet to walk around.
Why did you wait to start firing immediately after Bowser yelled "Light 'em up!!" ?
I would not have been able to complete the zone without this video
Those goombas look so goofy when they run
I think Hotfoot crater is the only place in the game that you can’t come back to
that and Peach’s Castle. It’s stuck as Origami Castle after you defeat the final boss.
Flying through the air, blasting paper airplanes, then escaping a volcano sure is an epic way to start the final chapter!
I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME
JUNIOR AND KAMEK ARE LEGENDS LOL
this makes mario galaxy’s airships look like a chump

And everyone died. The end.

So… Peach’s castle is at the volcano!? It kinda looks like Mt. Fuji in Japan
this is the best chapter by far, next to Shogun Studios
