      @@blitzbyte97 Yeah but if were looking at both craters in both shots are the same area, if you look at both shots and look at the buildings on the left they are identical, I so yes this man is wrong cause both are still in the area of shady, but I have seen a theory floating around that the ending in new Vegas lonesome road where you nuked the NCR might have been canon. Or the East Coast brotherhood somehow found a nuke lying around and blew shady and two what I have also been wondering is, why does shady look like a actual city there would be no way for them to have been building skyscrapers in that short amount of time between New Vegas and fallout 4. But am a little sad if the NCR is somehow turned into a ragtag group instead an actual military force just cause there capital was destroyed which is a dumb story move, cause governments can move there capital to other parts of the country inside there territory. One more piece is that, I REALLY want to see the west coast vertibirds instead of the shitty east coast ones, don't get me wrong they look nice but there more used as support and transport, while the Regular one that we all know and love is a gunship/transport that was in the US Army dating back to 2077.

      @@commanderwolf395 I don't think there is a West Coast version of the Vertibirds. They're the same as before just reinterpreted. A lot of things went through slight redesigns between Fallout 2 and Fallout 3, then again between Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4.

    I have to disagree with you on the cars. The car wrecks in the trailer look far more like the ones depicted in Fallout 1 and 2. I believe this is a good thing. Ideally, the show should cater to both fans of the original games, fans of the Bethesda games, and a new and broader audience, who is unfamiliar with both approaches to Fallout.

    • @blitzbyte97
      @blitzbyte97  Před 5 měsíci +10

      I can see your reasoning. I just would like some consistency, given how much of the aesthetics are taken directly from Fallout 4 and 76.

      ooo dude, its not going to cater to any fans. You think it will because it has a fallout name but they say its not for fans.
      Any time a show says f the old fans in favor of getting new fans, both is going to fail at making money and fail at making enough new fans to justify trying to replace the last ones. Yes micro transactions mean 1% of gamers pay more than the other 99% put together. But you can't micro transaction a tv show.
      Take a franchise with established lore and fans and they get confused why we don't like the new stuff...you do have phones right?

He is a Fallout fan himself, so he's making a show to please himself, and hopefully the rest of us will enjoy it too. That could be a good thing or a bad thing though. In every ending in New Vegas, the NCR comes out extremely weakened due to the war over Hoover Damn. All that money, all those lives, just for a bit more power and water. When any government nearly exhausts itself in a conflict, it's not going to be in good shape, and it ends up falling back a bit. It could the that, 15 years after the events of New Vegas, the NCR is somewhat in decline and now the Brotherhood feels it's a good time to hit them back for what happened at Helios and other locations. Take back territory, tech and weapons that the NCR looted from them.

    @canadianbacon9819 Před 5 měsíci +4

    Great video, but couple things I feel I have to point out to you. The West Coast chapters were well on its way to becoming more like the East Coast chapters even as early as before 2287, even Fallout 4 gives some evidence to this. One must understand that Maxson being elected Elder of the Capital Wasteland chapter on the East Coast changed everything for the BOS, even for those at the Brotherhood mother chapter of Lost Hills. And the NV ending that I am going to mention below is probably the most likely one given the events that we are seeing in the trailer. But Maxson does mention in dialogue that the West Coast Brotherhood was becoming more active and "had begun to send out patrols again." This is later supported even further. Even before the East Coast BOS was presumably victorious over The Institute, terminals on the Prydwen state that Maxson's actions/victories had not only allowed the Brotherhood's influence to begin spreading along on the Eastern seaboard, but was beginning to affect the choices and actions of the West Coast chapters as well. It is mentioned that Maxson's actions are so inspirational that it even causes the West Coast BOS to end their period of isolationism and begin to exit their bunkers, they even began to annihilate cultists and other dangerous threats. The terminal entry states: "He has the full support of the Elders on the West Coast, who have proudly reported they have begun eradicating cults that had popped up. They (West Coast BOS) worship Maxson as though he were a god." With all that being said if he was victorious over The Institute I wouldn't be surprised if he was promoted to High Elder of the entire Brotherhood of Steel, and if that were the case the actions of the West Coast chapters would not be their choice anymore.
    The airship is called The Caswennan. It's a completely different ship from the Prydwen. It obviously came into West Coast BOS service sometime prior to 2296. Schematics for the T-60 power armor along with the airship could simply be transferred back to the West Coast. This would work out much better for them, as the West Coast Brotherhood while they have been inactive in terms of governance on surface, they have spent decades stockpiling large amounts of vital technologies and other resources that the East Coast Brotherhood just didn't have access to at their earlier days (the defeat of The Enclave really changed things for them). Making the production of these items probably far more easy for them. Not to mention they have had 15 years since the events of New Vegas to prepare for another conflict with the NCR. As we know from dialogue in Fallout 4, The Prydwen took a moderate amount of time to build, Kells states: "It took the Brotherhood's sharpest minds (on East Coast) over two years to design and more than twice that to build." It came into service in 2282, which means that the BOS had been designing the airship as far back as 2275-76. This being prior to the defeat of The Enclave or the events of Fallout 3 which occur in 2277. Now by the time the show takes place in 2296, The Prydwen technology being 21 years old at this point gives them two decades to improvise and improve the design / production. With it only taking 4 years to manufacture one, it's not unreasonable to assume that they might have several by this point. But yeah I believe that this airship was manufactured on the west coast most likely. The problem with NCR territory is that it's so large, even though the Lost Hills bunker complex resides inside the NCR state of Maxson, they do not know its location. They would more than capable of building something like this without being noticed I think.
    And yes the NCR was the strongest government in Fallout but unfortunately it looked to be stagnating and on the decline during the events of New Vegas, before the battle even happened. It had greatly overextended itself and the Republic suffered from almost crippling levels of corruption and preventive bureaucracy. With what we see in the trailer it looks that Shady Sands, the capital of the NCR has been destroyed by some kind of cataclysmic event. Some terrible collapse or calamity obviously befell the NCR it's obvious. And I do get what you're saying but it doesn't really work against the NCR ending at all.. there are two possibilities for the NCR when it comes to victory. Complete NCR victory, or the far more likely option of NCR victory following a temporary ceasefire / alliance with the Brotherhood of Steel. When you get to a certain point in the storyline the NCR will state that the Brotherhood of Steel is something that needs to be figured out before the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. The NCR will send you to either make a truce with the Brotherhood or eliminate them. If Elder McNamara is still in and you haven't replaced him with Hardin then this truce can be agreed to. If Hardin is in then he will refuse this offer and every member of the Mojave chapter will turn hostile, one must eliminate them in order to progress. However, if the truce is agreed to, the Brotherhood of Steel actually sends armored Paladins and Knights to assist the NCR during the battle at the damn. Following the NCR's victory the end of the game cinematics the BOS Mojave chapter began to launch patrols up the i-95 highway towards the strip again. This benefited the citizens of New Vegas as trade was able to open and their presence brought added security. I believe that this is most likely The logical Canon ending as it is the only ending where the NCR survives where the Brotherhood also does in that area at least. This would also allow for the NCR to take most of the damage, cost and casualties during these struggles, well the Brotherhood remained relatively untouched on the west coast since the Battle of Helios One (which occured some years prior to 2281).
    There was a lot of other factors that could be responsible for the decline of the NCR. As I mentioned above they were already facing serious issues before New Vegas even started. They had a very costly war with the Brotherhood of Steel prior where entire units of the NCR military were literally wiped out in California. Then they started a 20-year expansion into the Mojave. They have basically had to fight constant costly wars, and have also had constant issues of other kinds. Where as the Brotherhood has had a significant time to recover and heal from their wounds on the West Coast, 20-15 years by the time this show will happen. They also have new leadership now or at least new inspiration, they also seem to have adopted the same open recruitment strategy as the East Coast. It's fairly obvious that the Brotherhood has been united from coast to coast. Or we wouldn't see transfer of technology like the airship, or T-60 as standard issue on the West Coast.

Fallout 2 and New Vegas took place during the "Frontier" phase, at the close of two different eras. I keep having this thought:
    Let us not have a brotherhood breakaway plot, pleaaaaaaase.
    Yet, YET:
    If there is any series to explore the foundation for the schism this would be it. The location and timeline puts the story in that sweet spot to explain what happened to the State of Maxson and how it was forced into the N.C.R. proper, brotherhood or not. It is my pet theory that having Paladins go out along side the N.C.R. troopers was part of the treaty worked out, and those Paladins eventually softened while the ones back in the bunker did not.
    If done right it won't feel like the schism does, every time, but a prelude that clearly sets the foundation for what will occur after the series ends. Alas we can all see them just doing the same thing over and over, so instead of a lone character starting to wake up to the reality of the world outside of the bunker and battlefields... we get a whole faction of them already within the heart of the brotherhood. That is my real fear, that we will simply be handed more of the same instead of a interesting twist on an old story.
    For it is a pretty common story, forced to join the enemy and softening to them....
    But it might be the only place the story makes sense, not crammed into every game!

      @@TheWarlock97 There is a massive fucking difference between Halo and Fallout. For one, the writers of Halo NEVER PLAYED THE GAMES, meanwhile, the director of Fallout HAS played the games and ALSO forced everyone working on Westworld (his previous project) to log over 60 hours in GTA before production just so they understood the assignment, they also have writers for previous Fallout instalments working with them. The second difference is that Halo is under Paramount which I don't think has much going for it, Fallout is under Amazon which, while having some flops, has a fair few bangers and decent adaptations (The Boys and Invincible for example). The third difference is their main writers, Nolan has played the Fallout games and is a big gamer himself, he loves games and has mentioned playing them before, he loves the source material much like Henry Cavill does. Kiki Wolfkill (weird name) is obsessed with pushing her version of the Chief through and is very much considered one of the main contributors to Halo's situation LONG before the show came out. Their circumstances are not the same, therefore, not equivalent. There is a difference between not playing the games and not actively setting out to try and please the fans. If you go into a project with the sole focus of pleasing someone, there's a chance you'll just piss them off instead. Writers of stories don't actively change the plot of their stories just to please their fans, they write stories that they want to please themselves with first and foremost.

Basing the show or film based off of games works for games that have recognizable characters and plot elements like how TLoU worked really well as a show that went based on the games but how Halo changed a little of things and ended up flopping.

    I see a lot of speculation about whether or not the NCR either lost in the second battle of Hoover dam to the legion or lost it to house or it was the independent new Vegas, Could be that even with an NCR victory at the Hoover dam, maybe the victory wasn’t as decisive and could have been a Pyrrhic victory, another possibility is that OSI projections of mass starvation came true and even if the NCR was able mitigate the crisis, it probably wasn’t enough to fully prevent the crisis, another part is that the NCR fighting a two front war even by the events of New Vegas began to finally take a massive toll on the NCR potentially bankrupting them if they tried to take former legion or current legion territory, explains maybe why they look so ragtag, even by 2281 many troopers weren’t getting proper training and body armor, the BOS in the east possibly won against the institute and maybe began or were working on a second prydwen style ship during and or after the events of Fallout 4 and as you mentioned they sent reinforcements to the west, as the NCR brotherhood war by 2296 when the story is supposedly taking place happened would have entered its 30 something to 40 something year since the conflict began, this show will probably canonize the ending for new Vegas and maybe fallout 4 but that’s just my thought. Maybe it’s a combination of all of this that explains why the NCR isn’t as present as maybe the BOS took the opportunity of a weakened NCR and set up operations in Los Angeles which probably would be a massive area for advance technology to be at, maybe the plot of the story will be for the Main character of the show to maybe help the NCR retake Los Angeles or stabilize the NCR

    NCR doesn't "ruined", it disappears, and "stays that way" they also add a little bit of so-called "West Coast" in the script like a search for replacements, such as a few names, but that's it. Nothing exists anymore, and while it's rude to say so, I urge Fallout 4 not to fill the hole Bethesda dug for this IP. It's not worth it. There's a ton of player-generated content on the Fallout 4 wiki that connects it to the previous game, But Bethesda's actions prove that they don't care, and we don't need to or should be making up for them anymore.

Most of the Fallout fans who haven't played 1 and 2 don't fully appreciate how the Black Isle/Obsidian titles understood and took seriously the arc of the entire location. Fallout 1 took place in the "wasteland" phase of the post-apocalypse. Fallout 2 and New Vegas take place in the "Frontier" phase, where they mark very definitive ends of specific eras in the wasteland. When fans of the older games complain about the shoddy and insulting worldbuilding of Bethesda's games, this is generally what they're talking about. California is not going to be a bombed out scavenger world for very long, and the writers of the original games understood this. The solution to this problem, of course, is not nuking the NCR. For one, the trailer talks about the "mission of the vaults" to rebuild the surface, which is exactly what Vault City did. For another, IIRC Vault city was annexed into the NCR, but they also had enough of a society built up themselves to survive on their own if the NCR has collapsed.That old lady in the trailer who recognizes the protagonist as a Vault dweller is probably more likely to mistake her for a Vault City citizen, and I'm wondering if there will be any dialogue to that effect.

Its why there is a Chicago Brotherhood of Steel chapter. What I think this series is meant to take place, is inbetween the events of Fallout 1 and 2, with the NCR starting to grow in power and fighting against the Brotherhood for territory, with the Brotherhood going into Bunkers to hide as they pushed themselves so thin with sending out their Airships to hunt Super Mutants and one of the last ones being sent to the East Coast to make a chapter in the Capitol Wasteland.

    Let's be realistic, it's Amazon bro- this show is going to SUCK.
    I too love the Brotherood of Steel, and sadly this version of them is all wrong. The Brotherhood were never black and red. In Fo3 the outcasts wore black and red to distinguish themselves from the regular BoS. Later Arthur Maxson brought the outcasts back into the fold, and that is why the brotherhood is black & red in Fo4. If this show takes place *before* Fo4 they shouldn't be black and red!
    Also it's important to note that Bethesda aren't even consistent in their lore anymore. (So if any of us are expecting Amazon to be so, I think we're dreaming.) I say this because the old BoS never got involved in overworld issues. They were reclusive and horded tech. Elder Lyons and his branch of the Brotherhood broke from this tradition in order to help the wastelanders on the surface. That was the WHOLE reason the outcasts split off in the first place!
    After they came back together under Arthur Maxson in Fo4, they too broke from tradition to annihilate all mutants/synths/ghouls in the commonwealth. This makes no sense, since he reabsorbed the outcasts no doubt with a promise of returning to tradition, then he too broke THE SAME TRADITION!
    So I already was annoyed by Fo4's brotherhood. And now this show has got them looking like Brotherhood Outcasts again- they even have a red sigil and red gear. That isn't chronologically possible. So the BoS lore is already FUBAR and my guess is it's gonna way be worse than we have already seen. ☠
