    Great video John only thing I’ve been thought differently is like the grapple anchor I would shackle the chain on the plough anchor on the pre drilled corner and use a cable tie the same as it would release a similar way👍👍. Keep up the great videos pal🎣🎣🎣

    Your videos are very informative and very relaxing to watch. You and your family have inspired me to purchase a 16ft cuddy boat. I'm going to spend the time fixing it up and becoming more accustomed to all the safety aspects of sea fishing. I'm definitely a novice and have only some experience of beach casting for bass and pier for mackerel. So I've fulfilled a dream of owning a boat. Your videos are brilliant keep up the great work. You helped my mental health also. Went foraging the other day found a few blood anenamas but no lobsters!!

    Very effective and simple. But one of those things that you probably wont think of by yourself. Well I would not have thought of it anyway :)

    Great video John.I like to bridle anchor when there's tide run in one direction and wind in another. Here in Australia we use a danforth for sand or mud or a reef pick for reef/rough ground.

      - That's pretty similar to how we do things. Also when there's wind across the tide a drogue can help keep you steady. :)

    Informative as always. Great channel especially for beginners like me.
    When bream fishing I understand that it is helpful to use a chum bag on the sea bed. A friend ties his chum bag to the anchor to keep it out of the way of fishing lines whilst still putting out a scent trail towards the baits. He has got a windlass to haul his anchor however I am looking to use an Alderney ring retrieval method as my boat is only small (Quicksilver 555PH). Any advice on what to do would be much appreciated.
    Keep up the good work.

    Have you ever tried using two anchors one off the back to help when the wind blows

    • @V3n0Mous1
      @V3n0Mous1 Před 3 lety

      That would defeat the purpose when the tides and wind change

    Learned a lot from that, especially anchoring up over specific marks or wrecks. Once you set your anchor how did you tie off at the bow?

    • @thefishlockerworkshop
      @thefishlockerworkshop  Před 4 lety +1

      - Around a cleat.

      @@thefishlockerworkshop thanks for advice, we have a quicksilver pilothouse moored at whitby for nearly 40 year but only ever had cod goggles on as well as the usual like ling Pollack etc. After catching halibut in norway and landing one in whitby last year I'm wanting to target them and and also bass do you have any tips? Best time of year/ Mark's / tides states etc?

    Hi John!! I’ve been watching a lots anchor videos 🤯 anyway I’m basically ready to go by following the advice on your video, my question is can I add a weak link to both ends of my small grappling anchor meaning if my anchor gets stuck to the point of no return I won’t lose my full anchor line? Sorry if this a stupid question.

    • @thefishlockerworkshop
      @thefishlockerworkshop  Před 2 lety +1

      I wouldn't do that, you will lose it unnecessarily.

      Nothing just with wind and tide your boat will pivot round your anchor perfectly normal can’t change that unless you’re using 2-3 anchors

    If that's basics I'll cancel getting a boat, as layman will never get that as long as I live without going college for about 3 years x
