- Pothia part 1, A stroll around the capital and the main port of Kalymnos to see the atmospheric narrow alleys and a look at the harbour.
It's a great place to explore with whitewashed and brightly coloured houses, colourful doors, shutters, balconies and narrow alleys

I agree, we've been to many Greek islands, but Kalymnos is one of the best we have visited, awesome place.

Nice video! Can anyone tell me, is this the island where there are long narrow steps up from the harbour to the town, with small shops and coffeplaces along the way? I can't remember wich island it was, but I remember it was an island famous for sponges.
Yes, Kalymnos is famous for sponges. I don't recall any place you described in Pothia. Kalymnos is a small island with plenty of little villages. I suggest you have a look on Google Maps; you may find the place you are looking for. It was one of the best Greek islands we have visited.
@@PeterHaida okay, thank you so much, I will try to find the steps,that I remember from my last visite in the 80's, but it musthave been another island, maybe Symi.
@@PeterHaida okay, I just found the steps! They are on Symi island, and they are called Kali Strata steps, they go up to the higher town with a great view, there are about 400-500 steps to walk up!
