The video in Ghostrunner isn't broken. some licensing issue prevents certain fmv formats from being played in official versions of Proton. use GE and the FMV plays.
That is so stupid and game publishers need to stop doing that.
@@TechnologistAtWork It this case it's not game publishers fault but the fact that steam can't bundle Proton GE with SteamOS due to licensing issues

Can't remember at this point why, But BoilR would make unusable shortcuts in steam for me. It was kinda a pain to troubleshoot as you had to manually change some launch options or set it to launch from heroic directly, which would mean the heroic steam input profile would be applied to the game (all games) that needed to be launched this way. This is not ideal for the steam deck.
The first games I installed were Fall Out 3 from GOG, and Untitled Goose Game from Epic. I can't remember which didn't work. But I fell back to using Heroic Bash Launcher. It's a script file you run and then it adds short cuts to steam but not all the art work needed by the deck, so I add the last few items from steam grid db myself. Kind of a pain but the short cuts it makes work and each game gets it's own Steam input profile which you need on a device like the steam deck.
Does anyone have a better explanation of flatseal and why I would need it? I just installed heroic, proton (latest) and installed it to my internal memory. The game launched fine without flatseal.
Guides like this get people into trouble and I noticed for a lot of new steam deck owners, this is their first time jumping into Linux. It would be great to cover this with just a little bit more detail other than saying it grants or denies these permissions now move on.
Flatseal is more or less a permissions manager for various Flatpaks.
There is no built in permissions manager for Flatpaks currently and so Flatseal does the job.
Most Flatpaks have set permissions but some don't have all of the permissions you'd want.
For example, most flatpaks don't have access to your MicroSD card by default and as of the writing of that video almost 2 months ago, Heroic didn't.
The only other alternative to using Flatseal would be to use the terminal and manually input commands, which is even less user friendly.

I have the problem that it does my steam deck as mouse and keyboard and not as a controler, if launche it via the heroic launcher, how do I fix that?
How do you get epic cloud saves to work properly with heroic? Wasn’t able to get the saves from the games I previously played on my pc.
I always force to sync cloud saves before launching the game. You have to launch Heroic, click in the gear icon of the game, then go to Cloud Saves and click the sync button. I dont know if launching the game with the boilR shorcut will sync the saves...
one thing that makes me sad is that altho it technically works, you cant really play kingdom hearts 1.5 2.5 hd collection. you have to set the launch game in the settings to a specific game in the collection and need to manually change load directories if you ever want to play a different one because if you try the launcher it just gets permanently stuck on the loading screen and never boots into the games

Idk about all the games but ik kh3 and 1.5 and 2.5 need certain requirements do you have discord?
@@PikaFlare 2ndbest#6870 also i meant all games in the 1.5 2.5, since it has a main launcher that lets you play 4 games and see 2 cutscene collections, but if you try to load the game through said launcher it just infinitly loads for me and doesnt actually play the game

I have a question about using BoilR with Heroic. Did the game sync cloud saves launching directly from the shortcut that BoilR creates or have I to force the sync through heroic and then launch the game? This is for Epic Games.
I'd imagine it would be through the shortcut as the shortcut is more or less a Heroic Games Launcher command but honestly more investigation would be needed.

Hey how can I download on an sd with heroic? I followed your steps but epic doesn’t automatically show up in the files like you said it would and now I have no clue what to do. It only wants to let me download to my internal drive and I have no storage there. Is there anything I can do?

Since this is basically an app that houses the gog/epic games, and steam sees it as you "playing" the heroic games launcher". How do you go about assigning game-specific system side key bindings? Any help would be good, thanks.
Heroic Games Launcher has a built in feature to add games directly to Steam as Non-Steam games. Meaning instead of launching the Heroic Games Launcher, you'd be launching a shortcut that launches an Epic/GOG game directly from Heroic games.
You also can use BOILR to add direct shortcuts to games in Steam and that would also take care of the artwork.
@@HiTechLoLife how do you do this? Is it done through the heroic launcher itself? Or in desktop mode in some way? I'm looking for options within the heroic launcher and can't see anything that sounds like "add to steam library". Sorry if this is a dumb question 😅
Does anybody else have really slow download speeds when trying to download an game update from the epic store on heroic?
Had to make my own epic folder in primary but then it let me switch to micro sd install

Fortnite doesn't work because the anti-cheat isn't Linux supported. Epic refuses to fix it.

Does anyone know an easy way to get Amazon games to play on the stream deck? I installed it on a pc and then copied it over via USB, which wasn't too bad but still leaves a lot to be desired. Next month has two AAA games for free and I am trying to find an easier way.
Tried installing Lego Batman through epic on the heroic launcher but it points out that I don’t have a correct discrete gpu with shader support and won’t run

A number of factors could be coming into play but probably internet issues.

How do you uninstall games tho?
heroic doenst let me log in. everytime i press log in it just redirects me to homepage. external log in with SID doesnt work either
It's a recent change to Epic itself the Heroic team is working on a fix.

How do I correctly Uninstall Epic and GOG games installed via Heroic? I've got a few that refuse to work. I've just been throwing the game folder in the trash and deleting them.
There should be an option to just uninstall it.

Click the X button on the game you want to uninstall it will gives you options for it.

Been trying to play fortnite and it's trash 🗑 sure the game starts up and seems to work good but the sec you get in the game you can do crap mines always crash after trying to move to much
