Honestly the best video on this channel. The editing and visuals are spot-on and the story being told is nothing short of incredible. Even the music choice sets the castaway and bittersweet tone perfectly (if anyone's curious, the song is called "The Barriers Between Us" by Eoin Mantell.)
Alvarenga's journey was unimaginably strenuous, and I can't fathom how much mental tenacity it took for him to see this hellish voyage through. Top notch, RLL, for shouting him out.
Its beyond absolutely unimaginable to realize that during the ENTIRE year of 2013 from the first second to the last
-He didnt ever feel solid ground and land
-He didnt even ever see any land
-He wasn't ever covered by a roof
-He couldnt ever walk
-He couldnt know how long he would still have to endure what he was experiencing
-And so much more...
Absolutely horrifying..

@Wyatt Earp
....just because this guy decided to show a Chinese ship in his video doesn't mean he encountered a Chinese ship .. in fact he didn't talk and which country the ship was from...
This is how subtle brainwashing works. He never actually said that it was a Chinese ship but RealLifeLore decided to use a cargo ship with Chinese companies and people concluded on their own that it was Chinese ships that ignored him. It's brainwashing without lying.

Sylberin might I argue that not all humans are trash. But rather have the potential to be trash. Nazi’s were still people before they became nazi’s. It just took a yes or no decision for them to become one of the most detestable members of western history.
@Sylberin I'm not saying every human is trash I exaggerated it becuase even if your not a trash person every human contributes to somthing bad, whether it be driving a car and putting gases into the atmosphere or straight up murder. And I know we cant help these things (yes, some people have disorders that make them not able to stop murdering people) because they are common these days but that doesnt means your a bad person. And I will admit I exaggerated to much and to that I apologize.
I love this story. I have learned a lot from this survivor. Patience, resilience, hope, serenity, imagination for the best to come!
In World War 2, a German sub was sunk but some of the sailors including one woman managed to get into a life raft and survived. They had no provisions so the only nourishment the sailors could get was from the woman, who was producing milk. They lived off of her for some days before they were all rescued. There was actually a movie that was made about it. It was called "Das Boob".

@Badge Man enough to sue someone (his friend) who has been through far worse?
Prep ok the man sort of became a celeb and made lots of money but the family of the diseased member saw that as an opportunity for money. This is the reason for the lawsuit. If the survivor didn’t make money from news coverage and show appearances the family would do nothing.
I hear you...people are too cold, insensitive.
Badge Man But the man didn’t murdered him. He just needed food. After surviving sharks for a year and a half, he came back and found the worst predator of all, lawyers
"engines died, no paddles, no oars..." well there's your problem right there, you NEVER get in a boat with no oars.
I agree, I don't like water or boats or anything but you can be sure as shit there will be something to paddle with. My question... Why didn't they jump into the water and push the boat while kicking? I know that would burn energy but do you think it would of made a difference?
Hoenstly i doubt it would, the oceans current and wind is gonna be way stronger then whatever energy your legs kicking make, not even to consider you would have to travel 24 entire kilometers doing it as well. I'm with you on this though, id rather try and (probably) fail to get back rather then just sit and let myself float out to the abyss of the pacific lmao
I would of been looking for a part of the boat I can rip off and use as a paddle, if there is any such non critical parts ?
@@zGJungle Well, the broken radio and the broken engine. lol

@@zeyad2i WTF
How the hell they going to prove he ate the other dude, ask a seagull?
Mountain Hobbler They could do a surgery on him.
EDIT:
It turns out that the man who went on the boat for 400 days was forced to give $1,000,000 of a book they made about him and the family of the teen takes $1,000,000 from the book revenue. Everything is okay now.
Mountain Hobbler Also why would he eat him? He was sick and died, he most likely was forced to throw him off the boat.
@@itzfusionplex4266 4 months into the ocean? With having to catch birds and fish? Which probably didn't happen every day? Cant't tell exactly but i wouldn't be surprised if did it. Yet if he has done it, i wouldn't really be mad, i'd probably go batshit crazy or die myself being on his place
He could have just invented the part where the other guy got sick.
shantejo no evidence to support that happened.
The music matches so well
The music is just eerily matching ☺️🌻🌻
Homeboy lasted over a year at sea and Im complaining about barely being able to last 7 hours at school
'barley'? I'm guessing you were sleeping through English class...
Allah SpreadsHate I was out like a light the whole class period
Bad Cattitude yah okay I get it haha very funny. I miss spelled a word, thanks fuckin genius asshole
You take barley to school?
Murk Bitxh yes... I sell it like meth
Will we just ignore that there were people on a boat that saw him and just ignored him?
These guys should be hunted down for good.
Even hitler wouldn’t do that
@@Salvadorzin1 i guess it was his mind playing tricks on him. Mirage is a normal thing in oceans and deserts.
@@GAMINGONFOLD That exactly what I was thinking . He was hallucinating .
I doubt he was hallucinating. Those assholes just thought he was very friendly and happy just being friendly.
I would've made different gestures than just waving. Strip butt naked idk whatever can possibly get them to stop.
There are people who survived way longer than this but died at the end. The worse thing that can happen to you while stranded in the ocean is that there is no wind at all. You will be stuck at where ever you are and remain there. This man at least had a decent boat although small size and had someone with him although he gave up or couldn't continue any further. I watched steven callahans survival in the ocean his boat sunk and he had one of those orange small plastic emergency tent which lasts up to 4 weeks, was blown by a fish, his spear got also broken by a huge fish, he got multiple occasions with sharks he got salt sickness because of too much contact with ocean water his skin fell off and he had more than 100 open wounds what that man went through in 75 days is crazy. Records are always about the longest or biggest which doesn't make any sense to me. When it comes to hardship, yeah those people who survived for years, who knows what they went through...
I love the deep ocean nice video
>Gets sued for something there is absolutely no proof of and no way possible finding out
seems legit
You can get sued and not get charged. The judge probably instantly dropped the case.
Max Moore Ikr. I’m assuming they just want a way to get some free money whatsoever.
Edit: Actually this is possibly the best explanation why they are getting sued with no absolute proof of it actually occurring. But that is just my opinion.
@@jamesecho3574 exactly.
Sadly, Mexico is such a shit place and so is it's court. You are guilty until proven innocent, and he had no evidence to prove his innocence

Stop doing it to everyone

I'd rather go back out to sea lol
@Space Doge Never, I shall do it to everyone, no one will escape my wrath
This guy must be an absolute legend at raft
This record is ranked at num 2 but is significantly more impressive than number1 which happened in a well stocked trade ship. Three of fifteen survived (13 bodies recovered) 484 days. The others died from scurvy. Interestingly there were two separate reports of the crews original size being thirty-five men.
*You can only imagine how this man broke down when he saw another human face after all that time. His mind must have been near it’s limits of monotony. To see another human must have invoked a gush of emotions*

Moral of the story for all of y’all, always bring an oar when going out on a boat
Oar?
An oar wouldnt do shit if you are 100 km away from the coast.
