I absolutely dig Irish horror. I hope more people tune in to it.
The scariest part was the buffering effect. I thought my internet was on the Fritz.
For me, in this horror movie the director/film crew seem to be pretty coy about whether or not the universe that this film is situated in is one where vampires/supernatural beings or the like exist. The technique used by the director seems quite carefully balanced to leave this crucial part uncertain. I think this is what is being explored in the movie: the horror that comes from us genuinely not knowing what the ‘rules’ are that determine what is right or wrong in the world. In that context, vigilantes are one really good example of this, and the ways things spin out of control so quickly is also horrifying. Anyway, just my own thoughts. I loved this. A fantastic premise that in under 10 minutes takes us pretty deep into the murky world of ethics and right and wrong.

Excellent premise, though my thoughts on Pedophiles are a solid locked Hatred 🔒. I thought he was a Lycanthrope ( Were wolf) )? He was so quick though.
Mob Justice However does turn out messy and quickly turns ugly . Look at the Riots here. I enjoyed this Short it also shows the Stupidity of Social Media Stars trying to get that last shot in .

Why is there a brazilian guy saying "Vamo juntar todo mundo e correr atrás dele, pô! (Let´s join everybody and run after him" in portuguese at 5:55m? I like that
Is that what he's saying? I took the audio from a street fight between some delivery drivers and teenagers. I knew they were Brazilian but otherwise it's just lucky timing.

I highly doubt they will subtitle it, however.
Time and money, which is why the *Alter* audiences miss so many fantastic foreign shorts.
Those we do see that are subtitled are quite possibly done by the film makers themselves, but many of the tiny outfits can barely scrape enough together to produce the film, cast usually acting _free gratis,_ to ensure it gets shown, as it is.
Then there's the requests from so many countries, for so many languages, it could plausibly discourage independent film making.
The only alternative is a paying audience, but would all languages be mandatory for fear of discrimination?
And would payment be per view?
If it was, then some film makers, going through the learning process of making films, would earn less.
And who would we pay...the film maker or *Alter?*
It's a minefield.
As you see, I've given it some thought. 😂

I don't know what to make of this, so I'm waiting for our professional connoisieurs to weigh in on it's hidden meaning. What I saw is -- a group of disgusting 'vigilantes' cause a huge commotion that hurts several people due to their rashness.
EDIT - The movie did not make it clear whether or not the man was in fact the pedo that they were after. That's why I didn't jump to any conclusions about the man himself (while the vigilantes' actions are more clear and open to judgement). A lot of people judging me for my comment, so I felt compelled to make myself as clear as possible.
See, *Alter* is fairly inclusive, showing all manner in the horror genre from small, independent film makers good enough to make the grade and they don't stipulate to the film makers as to the style or content of their films...wisely, I think.
Not _your_ grade, you understand, or mine, but one that has broad appeal for both audience and advertisers.
What you, like anyone else, terms 'classic' is pure unadulterated shite in the eyes of others.
It takes all sorts to make a world.
Me, for instance, I'm of the opinion _'Other Side of the Box'_ should be a staple in any horror fan's collection, but that does not qualify it as a 'classic' because, as yet, it has not stood the test of time and has not, to the best of my knowledge, gained a place in the heart of the majority of horror fans.
It will, I've no doubt, given time, however, brandishing the word 'classic' to denote your discernment carries no weight, I'm afraid.
Maybe you could compile a list of a few of your favourites and persuade *Alter* to show an anthology?
Or even to have a vote, in order to compile a list of the viewers' favourite shorts, then compile a top three, ten, whatever for an anthology?
On hidden meaning, it seems you await professional interpretation of the film, yet dislike the type of film that requires this, which is strange.
My own, unprofessional, opinion, which is probably incorrect, is the film shows society stripped bare.
Paedos are monsters, as are plain monsters.
Your appear to view the two vigilantes, as the girl acted to save a life, remember, as monsters, too, or, at least, savages.
Which of the three, therefore, is worse?
As I said, in another comment on this post, the film maker, it appears to me, held up a mirror to society.
Rather than deal with it's reflection in a contemplative fashion society narcissistically chose to preen.
I'm quite probably incorrect, but that's how my mind works.

@@billyandrew I personally like Alter because a lot of their stories don’t require the violence and gore to be scary (The Other Side of the Box does this so well.) Most of them- including the ones that do include gore or more intense scenes- are scary and disturbing because of the plot, settings, and characters on their own. One of my personal favorites is Childer. It’s slightly more straightforward than some other stories, but is very open to interpretation and reading the comments and seeing others’ ideas was really fun. I also liked ‘The Things We Do When We’re Alone,’ but if I go on naming every Alter story I loved, we’d be here all day. While I do love gore in horror, it doesn’t necessarily make something scary. All it does, when done well (in my personal opinion, you’re all free to disagree with me) is add on to an already scary story, like how a light bit of makeup enhances a person’s natural beauty, instead of cover it up. I like stories that are open to interpretation and have hidden meanings because (and this may be one of my favorite things about yt,) it’s fun to be able to see what other people think of the same story. So that’s my rant, if you read all of that, congrats
