Its more thsn just a bumper change front end is different. Reverse chain has not been in ranger for several years i think in 21 they went to gear to gear reverse. Now the turf mode remains to be a problem but only if you run bigger tires such as 35s. 32s youll be fine. The bew steering is likely tge same setup as tge razor turbo s which is a pretty good upgrade if you want to run a 35 inch tire.
Boldly navigate obstacles with a rigid one-piece chassis, a redesigned front end featuring a larger front bumper, and a full-body skid plate. This what Polaris said
@@americandream_89 I think the xpedition got its steering from the turbo s. I wish my 22 ranger had thus as I am running 35s and will have to upgrade my steering soon.
Agree nothing special here except a high price. If you are spending this much you might as well go with the XD if you need a great work machine that has great clearance for occasional trail riding. Much better suspension, drivetrain, fit and finish, etc. I just pulled the trigger on a 2024 XD 1500 Crew. Did they announce a 2025 XD yet? Not sure what they could improve on the XD except maybe the better designed roof. Thanks for all your videos Drake, you helped me a lot in deciding which rig to buy.
The XD is a sweet machine. You will love it. I’ve seen people put high tires without any modification on the xd. I truly think it like you said is a big improvement for the money over the Ranger 1000. I’d say they will update it slightly in 2026 but nothing major. Thanks for the feedback and support buddy
So interesting enough thumper fab just did a fully built xp vs xd and they said the xp was better for trail riding. I guess the xd is super jumpy down in low gear. That surprised me a lot.
@@mingomane1 it’s how the xd shift points are. I’ve seen many complain across the board as in from normal trails to rock climbing. Everyone is used to the CVT that has “ infinite gearing “ so that car like transmission isn’t as responsive.
@@americandream_89 interesting. I would like to test drive one. The interior and creature comforts can be as nice as they want but if it doesn’t perform then I wouldn’t buy it. I love the quiet cab. With a 3rd little one on the way a nice quiet cab is high on my list.
Shifting is night and day difference! EPS is also amazing! Roof is way better! And JBL audio freaking bumps! Very well worth the price jump!, just wait dealers will start costing them out!
Nothing solid yet, I would be surprised if they changed a whole bunch as most people are out of money currently and it’s still not easy to get your hands on a limited.
@@americandream_89 my local dealer has a few limiteds in. Im in the market for a limited BUT i was hoping Can-Am at a minimum put an infotainment system in the defenders. Thats the biggest thing that makes me want a Polaris Ultimate. (Can’t believe i said i wanted a Polaris) lol
@@theMacGyvercom it’s an attractive feature to the masses you’re not alone. I’m not saying that the 25 defender won’t have that but to do so they would have to completely redesign the dash AC control unit set up and multiple other things. I hope that they do for people sake, but I just don’t see it.
If can am would just give us a damn ride command competitor. Even the mav r system the nav requires your phone and is pretty much useless. I want a can am xpedition competitor and and completely redesigned defender. I like the idea of a commander especially the xtp but when you site in a general xp or a xpedition and then go sit in a commander it feels like a 10 year old machine on the interior. I mean cup holders on the floor?
For them to do so they will have to totally redesign the defender dash. I’m hopeful as well but not sure when they will. It would also make price jump 1-2000. I truly hope they come out with a xpedition competitive machine!
@@americandream_89 the defender is due for a total redesign. Can am doesn’t have any interiors to compete with the xd or xpedition. I think a current defender limit and ranger nature should be in the mid 20’s and the x and xd should be in the mid 30’s tops. It’s insane that po po charges 43k and 50k for these machines.
What a fricken let down. How was this worthy of a reveal? I was hoping for essentially a 1500 with the xp1000 drivetrain. No fold down middle seat, no high clearance an arms ect. For what they already charge it should have a more refined cab and quieter.
I think I like the ranger better the doors on the defender and the oil Changes are 2 things I can't get into. I do like how can am changed their 4wd In the newer models
Gen 2 transmission is to die for!
Sweet I’ll have to go test one

For car prices they need way more. No arm rest, no mirrors, needs interior light when you open door. These toys aren’t moving in Michigan.
I’m seeing new xpedtions like mine still here for 37999

More of a refresh than a new model
For sure
