- Sunday driving in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city. Relatively not much traffic for the weekend and it is partly cloudy, as it is difficult to catch a fully sunny day.
Each of the architectures in St. Petersburg is beautiful like a piece of art. And, St. Petersburg is like a gigantic museum or palace where the each of these architectures is like an art exhibit.

The roads are by far better than during the Soviet era when I visited back in the late 1980's.
Man, it's so bizarre to look at all these places that I know so well, the streets I've walked across so many times in my life, from a computer screen, like, it's such an amazing experience.
I'll visit StP at some day, want to walk a lot there... but wow it seems huge.

Interesting... After a few weeks I will go to St. Petersburg and will likely rent a car. I am familiar with driving in big cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Cologne (Köln), Paris, Brussels, Flemish cities (Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Brugge)).
This video gives me a good impression how it will be like, although my first trip will likely be from Pulkovo Airport to Nevksij Prospekt (Невский Проспект). From there I may go to Winter Palace (Зимний Дворец) and Царское Село.
You can just expect more traffic jams due to snowfall and poorly clean roads. However, the beautiful snowy winter has already begun😊

In January I have been in Moscow. It was between -8 and +1 degree (one day it was pretty warm). I notice that I am not very sensitive to cold. -8 degrees don't do much to me, especially when I am walking with a certain speed.
I drove when it was -11 degrees and much snow in The Netherlands. I have to drive carefully if there is snow. If there is almost no snow, I drive faster.
