This is the first category I ever played a time trial of! Back then I tried to skip the coins in the first turn to get ahead of the world record, but I quickly realized there was so much more to this game than I could fathom at the time. Why are there always so many records above the WR these videos are showcasing? Is it balance changes making old times impossible to beat? Didnt the balance patches generally make karts faster and stronger?

there actually aren’t if you look closely, pii was at the very top. the poster just includes a few seconds of the leaderboards im guessing just as a reference so people can compare the time to the old record
