Thank you so much for doing this video. I have read Heston's autobiography and I am a huge fan of him. I learned a lot about films that I never knew that he did, so I thank you for that as well. Did you notice how many of these films dealt with History! It is one of the major reason I enjoyed so many of his pictures. I am a History Professor at several colleges and universities. Once again, thank you for the video.

I'm pleased, even a little surprised, that Touch of Evil made it to #2,while I'm not at all surprised that a strange clunker like Alaska didn't make the cut at all, but I'm also a little sad for his supporting roles not cited here: Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, Wayne's World 2, Tombstone, and True Lies.
I have seen 21 Charlton Heston movies. That total is higher than it was a couple of years ago. As I told you before, I did finally see Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments. My favourite Heston movies are The Big Country, Touch of Evil, Planet of the Apes, The Three Musketeers, The Four Musketeers, Beneath the Planet of the Apes and 55 Days at Peking. Top of my to-see list is Dark City.
Other Heston films I have seen not already mentioned are The Greatest Show on Earth, The Agony and the Ecstasy, The Naked Jungle, Khartom, Major Dundee, Midway, The President's Lady, The Greatest Story Ever Told, The Wreak of the Mary Deare, Ruby Gentry, Lucy Gallant, and Diamond Head.
Favourite posters and stills are from The Big Country, Ben-Hur, Touch of Evil, The Ten Commandments, Planet of the Apes, El Cid, The Greatest Show on Earth, The Agony and the Ecstasy, 55 Days at Peking, Major Dundee, Dark City, The Mountain Men, The Wreak of the Mary Deare, Three Violent People, Secret of the Incas, Counterpoint, Pony Express, Antony and Cleopatra, and the final still.
Hi Flora, great post! As you know I'm a big Charlton Heston fan so an expanded video was inevitable. My tally is a bit bigger than yours but not by much, I've seen 33 out of 50, it should be more but I tend to see the same old films over and over instead of seeking out classic films I haven't seen.
Glad you've finally seen Ben-Hur and Ten Commandments, two of my all time favorites. Other favorites of mine include - Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man, Soylent Green, El Cid, The Naked Jungle, Touch of Evil and The Big Country. Have You Watched The Extended TV Cut Of Earthquake (1974)
I saw it way back in the late 70s or 80s, I remember a sequence with an airplane landing which wasn't in the theatrical cut.
For punishment watch Earthquake. Ugh.
The one thing that I take away from all these videos is that they all made a lot of bombs, dudes, losers...even the greats.
