Aran is a good unit, you're just wrong.
he is good for db chapters, no doubt, they lack any for of tank or what so ever. but he get quickly out classed by nephenee later by her speed, resistance, and the fact that she's with GM for a good amount of time which means a lot of training opportunity and bexp. so aran, good to have, but not worth to bring to end game over nephenee if you really want a sentinel

@@squidaccus sentinel is a bit overshadowed by gatrie tbh especially aran, due to their limited choice of weapon and, well, gatrie's speed. it is particularly hard for aran to compete, as he will have less armor, less damage and less speed than gatrie. and main reason i bring nephenee is "cough thigh cough", wish blade op. but i need someone who can reliably double to use it, and aran would be lucky if he don't get doubled by a lot of units.
@@idodeclare6804 I don't think there's that big a gap between them imo.
Aran has like 70% growths in attack, defense, and skill and gets a ton of mileage from BExp. He wasn't even trained in his join chapter of this run for Mekkah. I agree endgame wise Nephenee is generally more optimal to take to the final chapters as she comes with innate wrath, good res growth, etc but performance wise she does struggle a bit to get going at first. Relative to Aran's chapters I'd very much argue he has an easier time and gets more mileage in his chapters prior to endgame getting a ton of exp mileage as a frontline tank, a lot of beast unit chapters that give more exp along with the DB having access to skills like beastfoe/paragon/etc, him capping str/def/skl super early, and his biggest niche I'd say is his thunder affinity as a support unit giving def and avoid bonus while Nephenee has wind affinity which is the worst affinity
Don't know enough about Gatrie to comment on that but I do know he's the best Sentinel as his competition comes down to like Meg and Brom. Tauroneo is pretty great and comes with resolve alongside a nice affinity but his availability and exp gains are very sus
@@dunemidr6043 i mean at the time when you need to pick between aran and nephenee, which is in the final chapter, nephenee is just gonna perform better, gatrie kind of filled the role that aran could do except even better, not locked to lance, higher defence, but nephenee's resistance is something both gatrie and aran can't compete at all, also aran is a DB unit, while nephenee can access both the elincia and ike campaign(which have a ton of bexp). but still, the main take away is gatrie is basically a better tanky lance user if you want one in late game, while nephenee is a very resistance-tanky fast lance user and she don't need to suck up too many bexp to perform that role while aran need a ton just to get that speed going. and i tend not to invest much in DB unit except for sothe and micaiah, because i'm forced to take them to the end game, but every other DB unit kind of get overshadowed by GM's. so in my playthroughs i don't try to let aran soak up too many exp. also i have a POR playthrough where nephenee maxed out on strength speed and skill so that's a plus 4 attack speed when she's stuck with the heavy lance.
Why does Laura call out for her father if she's an orphan
Generally, priests refer to each other as sister/brother, while either the head priest(s) or the being they worship is called father. So shes probably calling put for the head priest of her church
Random trivia but Sothe also refers to Laura as "sister" at the start of the prison chapter which I thought was pretty neat and in her endgame story Laura becomes a "mother" to many orphans.
Edward, Sothe, Aran, and many others were also actually orphans as Daein has led a very difficult life for those in the lower classes
