  • Talk's Kevin O'Sullivan is joined by Conservative commentator Benedict Spence to discuss Labour's budget plans.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves recently said the Labour government inherited overspending of around twenty billion from the previous Tory administration. About this, Kevin said "Labour loves talking" and Reeves should just "get on with the job and govern the country.".
The pair also discuss the GP strikes.

@peterholden3672 They could use sliding scales to avoid the trap. They do this with the evaluation of savings for pensions credit so that there isn't a sudden dislocation so it could be done for the entire assessment. This would avoid many other poverty traps as well.

And they've fucked it up so much and hidden things they've messed up from the client and generally ballsed everything that could be ballsed up. And now the job will cost £150k to complete. Should you just get on with it? Should you not take the time to really explain to the client just how much the previous person had fucked up the situation and explain why it's going to cost more and look like it's getting worse before it gets better?

She’s proposing lowering it while putting up inheritance tax to about 54% some will be taxing the dead’s capital gains on rental property .
Just what is the point now of any body working hard and being a success . They only want to get rid of cash so everybody in totality can be tracked traced and ( legally stolen from ) taxed to death .
