Not sure if this will be seen, but when I need to remove protruding metal objects from wood like that, I found that heating up the metal quite a lot and then twisting it around opens up the hole just enough to pull it out. Nice work!

sass was once used to flavor root beer. in high doses, it causes neurological damage that's why it's not used anymore. if you have the leaves high-end bars buy them since they are great for certain cocktails. but if you can't figure out what to do with those cookies ill buy them from you. also don't use water on cookies. the water makes drying hellacious and they will cup. alcohol will show you the grain appearance and evaporate off quick so as to not over-saturate the grain leading to potato chipping.

As i saw that piece of metal i was reminded about a job i had in a cnc shop. i was the sawing guy. fun fact, when sawing steel sometimes there are little pieces of carbide in the steel, especially in cheap imported steel, when they used subpar material at the forgery, and it literally can rip the teeth of the blade if you hit one. so no matter what it is you're sawing, a small piece of foreign material in the right spot can ruin your day. 😆

John, cookies are the best! I’m local in Pittsburgh also, and I cut a bunch of sycamore and oak last year when a storm blew through Edgewood. They are finally dry and im ready to pour some epoxy in the first one in the next day or so. Since then I’ve gotten some more oak and some mystery wood ( with a lot of inclusions and rot.) Never underestimate the rot, with some penetrating epoxy, it will look really cool.
I am most looking forward to cutting the maple I have, the larger chunks have awesome striping and spalting. They will make some sweet coffee tables!
The one piece of maple is 5’ round, this is a great size for kitchen tables!
Next week I am getting some more 4-5’ diameter oak. It should be a good weekend next week, Steeler game Saturday, Metallica on Sunday, and more trees on Monday!

Definately team cookie here, the coolest thing I've made was from an awesome, twisted walnut cookie.. On the milling, hitting metal is obviously a blade killer, but in general it seems leaving a bunch of cookies/slabs stacked while you cut again lower would massively increase the friction load on the blade, increasing heat and decreasing life of the blade. The extra weight would be trying to close the kerf and pinch the blade, removing each cut piece would make for less load on the saw and longer blade life... 👍

    • @titaniadioxide6133

Probably wouldn’t work as well. When you’re using the handheld drill you’re scraping the corners, bottom, and sides as you mix, or at least move around in the bucket.
On the drill press, you’d need to move the bucket instead of the drill, which is much more difficult.
Probably safer and more feasible to get a $30 Harbor Freight drill to use for epoxy mixing than to try to mix on the drill press.

I think round tables can be very nice and those could make some really funky round tables. These cookies I like. :D

Best one I found in a log was a ceramic insulator. Talk about taking the teeth off a blade 😬😂

Hola! 🖐WHERE'S THE MILK for all them cookies! đŸ„›đŸ˜†đŸ˜‚Cool video but I find myself feeling anxious like something is about to go really, really bad. I'm not wishing that but it just feels like "it's just around the corner". Stay safe out here. Take care and have a good one, Adios! 👊

The unidentified metal thing looks a lot like a "Garage Hook" or "Bike Hook". Grab a vice grips and try to thread it back instead of pulling/prying. Should come right out.

Those Elm cookies are beautiful! Where are they at now after a year? Have they dried nicely? :)

Would be cool to Throw one of those cookies on miss piggy and route out the top detail and Silhouette of the millennium falcon. Epoxy it flat and it would be some nerds dream table.
