I got to get up-close and personal with Rhythm X while they ran though their 2010 program of Inspired before their winning finals performance at MEPA Championships
Definitely my favorite WGI show even if it was pretty dirty. Just can't get over the badassery of the snare + tenor books and the awesome music selection
The heads they were using were prototype honey comb hybrids. Only X got to use them because they were discontinued for many reasons i have no idea why. But as far as i see it. They were a success because they sound fantastic on tenors and snares.
Jarred Parr The Level 360 is a new way Evans is making their heads. It has to do with how the head sits on the bearing edge of the drum. Maybe you're thinking of the System Blue heads that Evans came out with for the Blue Devils? That's the only head that I can think of that still has the honey comb.
@alldrums247 The ballad is called "Collateral Damage." It's the second half of United States of Eurasia, off of their album The Resistance. Both songs are in the show, the 2nd and 3rd movements respectively. Sorry if I sound like an X fanboy, I just know those Muse songs.
@Kilo181 "Butterflies and Hurricanes" is the opener off of Absolution "United States of Eurasia" off of The Resistance and "Knights of Cydonia" off Black Holes and Revelations
@DrummerOlive Tim Jackson Prototypes. RX and Centerville were the only ones to have them this year, i believe. They're Evans and they have this weird honey-comb design.
@advancewarsaddict lol his hand isn't even in the way during an important part, just a visual. Not a big deal, considering there are a bunch of other videos of this same part, and there will be more.
sorry about the shotty quality.. those basses can REALLY hit and that with the combo of a small room made sketchy... sorry :( that camera works fine outside.. should have better vids after worlds :D
@advancewarsaddict nonono he's our 3rd bass i dont know how he does it, but whether im talking to our 4th bass or our director he ALWAYS gets in the way!! i dont know how he does it!! i was about to slap him when he did that.. lol
@tmandrumma4 thats actually my tech and we asked him and he said he practiced for HOURS to get it haha. me and the person i split center with are working on it.. its hard. haha
TKvids 13 Pulse had the cleaner overall performance for the final. I agree that Rhythm X had the more impressive show, but it was slightly sloppy at times.

Ridiculous Single Strokes THE SHOW
The heads they were using were prototype honey comb hybrids. Only X got to use them because they were discontinued for many reasons i have no idea why. But as far as i see it. They were a success because they sound fantastic on tenors and snares.
They are actually in use by the Bluecoats now! Level 360 is the name

Oh, maybe I'm just crazy. I just remember seeing a bluecoats video where they had the honeycomb heads and it said level 360
+Jarred Parr I think he's talking about the snare heads bc he said hybrid.
Still watching in 2023

I love how the bluecoats 2010 center tenor says "that can't happen i don't know how they do that."
@kandorei101 the main ballad is butterflies and hurricanes by muse. its off their absolution album if that helps anymore
The amount of notes in this snare book is unhuman, there all robots sent back into time.
@alldrums247

@Kilo181 "Butterflies and Hurricanes" is the opener off of Absolution "United States of Eurasia" off of The Resistance and "Knights of Cydonia" off Black Holes and Revelations
5:45. cut the food, eat the food. cut the food eat the food. lol
@DrummerOlive Tim Jackson Prototypes. RX and Centerville were the only ones to have them this year, i believe.
They're Evans and they have this weird honey-comb design.

@advancewarsaddict
lol his hand isn't even in the way during an important part, just a visual. Not a big deal, considering there are a bunch of other videos of this same part, and there will be more.

@MultiDrummer12 Those look like the Paul Rennick snare stick. (:
@DrummerOlive tenors are using the same thing and snares have hybrids
One of the guys should've TOTALLY planked his snare.
