Redgum's "I Was Only 19" as a glitzy musical number was always a standout 😃 and Gina Riley plays the tacky hostess all too well! (Patty Stacker from Big Girl's Blouse was also hilarious)
Thank you. Having grown up with this I still so adore it. I’m now 67 and in London but oh thank god I had the pleasure of fun without the need for a safe space.
Mr Gary86 - Love your channel! Do you recall they did a song ‘gas explosion’ with Gina….. I can’t find it anywhere. It was 60s themed from memory if that helps….if anyone recalls it please do sing out, I’d love to find it again.
What utter shite-especially that rendition of "I was only nineteen"-completely and utterly ignorant and disrespectful of the trauma suffered by our troops in Vietnam.A war that had absolutely nothing to do with Australia. My first husband(Vietnam veteran)suicided along with many others. They received no support whatsoever as I didn't as a war widow.😢😢😢😢😢😢
I've watched this many times and never really took much notice, but tonight watching it and listening to the words, I did wonder if it was a little disrespectful. It's the world of comedy a satire, nothing is out of bounds, not even 19. I understand your point though.
Eleanora La Gore is so Piss-Elegant, it always lights me up. That rendition of "I was only 19" is massively therapeutic.
Fabulous, Darling. 💜✨
I spat my coffee across the room

Been looking for Eleonora’s treatment of Treaty for years. (18:30) Thank you. I thought it might have been cancelled. Pure genius.
Hahaha that is so funny. She takes something good and worthwhile and makes it sound like absolute craaaaahhhhffffttt....
Marjorie and the harp 😄
Piss elegant!
The Saturday Show was a real television show. It aired from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s.
What a hoot
Give a big woo for me 😮
The Best
Chiffon and shenanigans

13:30 And they were NOTHING like a dame!!! 😁👍
Rolf Harris singing Janie's Got a Gun - Was that a glimpse of the future or what?
Forever funny 😂

I really miss the days when people had a sense of humour and you could laugh without offending someone 😢
I think it was Google that come up with political correctness an extreme sensitivity to wipe out the competition so we'd only be using their services
Still funny!❤
Good lord, there was 30 minutes of that crrrrrr
Those were the days....Everyone would be offended by everything today....
Exactly Belinda. We should have a Royal Commission into how our world 🌎 has been destroyed by the thought police
🤣🤣🤣
There was nothing fictional about The Saturday Show -- this was a sketch skewering an actual (then-defunct) show
