What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

lol You sure did. It's just that they are unstoppable.....everything they do is near perfect. Old C9 were the only ones that had a chance to take the championship from them.
Honestly, I don't even think that old C9 was really on their level. Panthera had been off their game for all of LAN season really, losing to Paradigm in the finals of Super Regionals. And even since then, they have gotten better. It's insane.
I mean its the same Panthera that tossed aside Enemy in the finals. The Super Regionals happened before SWC so they corrected little mistakes and brought their A game. C9 had a pretty good run too. Downside was those annoying neith picks....they were too comfortable with using Neith mid.
QuantumC True. I definitely think that NME is stronger this season though. I am interested to see the "Epsilon Invitational" though. I wonder if an all-star team could take them down? The issue here for me is that Epsilon works SO well as a team, they are so fluid and mechanically gifted that even their few and far between mistakes are irrelevant.

Soar vs Enemy was an amazing game.
Panthera are gods though. When Soar were in the lead, it was almost like Panthera just wanted to practice pulling back a game from behind.
Yeah, I think Enemy was more well-suited to fight Panthera than Soar were. Their shot calling is better.
+dragontyron Enemy would have steamrolled by panthera, their teamfight is nowhere near as good. even soar has a better team fight. Enemy is good at playing objectives and they are very tactical, but when it comes to team fights, they aren't even in the top 3
Maldoré Well obviously. I never said Enemy would avoid the inevitable roflstomp- I don't think there are any teams that _could_ at the moment. But since their objective play is better than Soar's, they might have had a better time than Soar did, since beating Panthera in a teamfight is nearly impossible anyway.
I disagree they are top 3 when it comes to team fights, it's just that if u ban their strongest gods then they lose pretty badly, as seen in the match against soar. U can see that as janus after first match was banned as an example. They honestly don't have lots of Gods that they can play amazing with.
sasuke suckz EGR, Soar, HFM, and Paradigm all probably have better teamfights than Enemy. I've often heard it said that if there was an spl tourny in arena Enemy would be nowhere near the top.

i fell like if enemy would've won that game agiasnt soar they couldve had the highest possibility of winning, no because theyre a better team but because Pain know theyre play style as being apart of enemy, who played them in the 2016 SWC & at this point i wouldnt be surprised if panthera won the 2017 SWC, being quite literally the best smite team in the world at the moment, shadowing the rest of their european compatition, who are all really good teams

I don't think anyone was. They've been steamrolling ever since the Spring Split began, it's like they didn't even need to try very hard to win Dreamhack.

Honestly their whole team is amazing. They're all great players, and their communication and shot calling is on point. Adapting has beautiful mechanical skill, but no single person on Panthera deserves more credit than the others for their wins.
+Dlshad Hoshiar yes it's true adapting is amazing individually, but if you put him in a team like randozos they won't be any better because it's Panthera as a team that makes them so good. Their synergy and shot calling together is unmatched in the league. Only team that could match them in talent and synergy was that old C9 team that disbanded.
