    With a better understanding of neurological functioning, says Karl Pribram, M.D., we may find the groundwork for a new approach to understanding spiritual and mystical experiences. Dr. Pribram, professor of neuropsychology at Stanford University and author of Languages of the Brain, is best known for his "holonomic" theory of brain functioning.

    I came across Michael Talbot and Karl Pribram from reading 'Beyond The Brain' by Stan Grof. That book has been like my bible. It's been by my side for the last 10 years, inspiring me and enlightening me. Another good book is 'Beyond Death' by Stan Grof.

    He glitched @4:45 because he realized he was explaining a paradox, and that paradox nullifies his logical standpoint. I've been saying it for years. You see reality with the brain. You can't see reality without the brain. So even if someone tells you something you didn't see or experience first hand, you are now and still experiencing what they are telling or showing you with said brain. He tried to say that he got the brain reading info first before the event that said brain experienced, and then when they looked at the experience event (quantum) that it aligned with the reading of the brain info. Basically the more you propose, assume, wonder, theorize, compare, etc and the more people you bring in with the pre belief that these outside people can experience reality outside of yourself, all comes into factor.
    It's like there is a trickster that sees all and can read minds and can manifest things instantly. But it follows guidelines or a rule structure. So these scientists are trying to trip up this trickster or catch it, but they can't. It literally manipulates the evidence, the perception, the witnesses, the equipment, etc etc because all of it is being seen and experienced with said mind/brain. The conclusion IS AN ANALOGY. It's like arguing the direction of cause and effect, and or effect and cause. A fool's errand. It's like trying to trap energy in one spot, when the confines or box you use is made up of the same said energy.

    The discussion in the video makes you conceive the concept in a new light. In my home town there's a pond with all manner of bird life. The reflection of these birds: Swans, Canada Geese, Ducks, etc... In the water their reflection is clearly seen. But if it begins to rain many millions of droplets distorts by ripples. When the rain stops & the sun comes out the reflective image is restored. The bird life is constantly changing as the some fly off, others move along the water & others take off in flight. This is my analogy of the human mind.

    I believe our interconnectedness is because we are all part of the whole (the cosmic consciousness) or holographic universe as you will. When metaphysicists talk of us having many selves possibly doing other things in other places it is because we are all one from this holographic universe. My insight of this helps me understand how certain energies can be in different places at the same time. VV'S NDE

  • @alpidistra
    @alpidistra Před 12 lety +2

    The idea that we each create our own reality doesn't really make sense. We created it based on what? If each person created his own reality, we'd all be living in paradise because each person would create the world that perfectly matched his desires and personality. What outside force prevents that from happening? And why do we basically all see the same miserable world? There's some kind of collective force that ensures that we all see the same thing. That can't be explained by this theory.

    If alarmed, it is likely because you think being a holographic reality would imply that you are somehow less real, a sophisticated avatar at best, or a plaything of something beyond you, projecting you as a super sensory effect. To arrive at such conclusions is understandable, but what of the most exciting possibility that they also beg to suggest: that you are also an aspect of the consciousness that designed and created the holographic sensory self in the first place. Of course this begs the next question - why?

    • @andmajst7678
      @andmajst7678 Před 5 lety +1

      "Why?" is the interesting question. I wonder if the projection of the consciousness, is how "IT" propagates itself further. In this case, the 'self' would be akin to the consciousness in the way that 'thought' relates to mind. The next question is, if there is no thought, is there a mind? Ie. If there is no experience of consciousness (via self) is there a consciousness?

    There's really no problem, My Friend, other than perhaps unrealistic expectations. We understand ideas by association with ideas that we perceive ourselves to already understand. Your experience of "confusion" very likely means that you simply don't have understanding of ideas yet that would lay the foundation for your making some kind of sense out of this information. Like I said, it's possible that you're expecting too much, too fast. Relax! Let these new ideas percolate within. Peace!
