Pretty sure I'd be more surprised by what is considered "normal" in this context. I consistently _overestimate_ what people eat, even here. And as far as I'm aware the average is even lower over in Japan.
Meanwhile I'm regularly turning what the packaging labels "4-6 servings" into a single meal. And if I have some 2-3 hours between meals I can eat another one, even if I'm not actively hungry. If anything I'm still a bit underweight though.

20 plates of sushi, is about 2 pieces of sushi each... That's probably a 40 piece sushi set.
That's a little big for a meal but not ridiculously so.
@@joshuawells7415 Portion sizes in Japan must be much smaller than the sushi portion we see in the west. At least 20-30% less rice for instance so it can be eaten in one bite or something.
@@dra6o0n rolls and nigiri are usually 1 and 2 bites respectively in America, I can't imagine they'd be smaller than that in Japan.
20 plates is insane, thats basically 20 pieces of sushi at the minimum, and potentially up to 60 if they put two or three servings per plate.
Id probably only eat that much if I was starving to death.
