The real villain here was Lightning Storm - that spell is in desperate need of a nerf.
Ladies Man lost *80* Military Population to that one spell.
was a huge loss
From my observations for all the cast games, streams, and personal experience, Lighting Storm, Manticore, and Nemean Lion clearly need some nerfs to bring them more into line. Colossus on the other hand needs some buffs. It does pitiful damage to land units.
@@UnderKingDuck Manticore and Nemean Lions just need a small nerf to their special abilities. They seem fine otherwise. Volley does too much damage and the stun on roar lasts a bit too long and has too much range.
@@TinfoilHatWearer-w9v that would do it. But let talk about the Colossus because I saw one video where it took them 4-5 hits to kill a single villager. LOL
@@UnderKingDuck NVM Greeks can't have nice things. Colossus can suck for 10 years but Manticore actually being useful? Can't have that. No sir.

Odin nerf's really showcase the problem their change. In Heroic age, Norse gain access to new Cavalry unit. The unit is called Jarl. Jarl is regular age of mythology does extra damage to myth units. The problem is that they nerfed Jarl Unit to not deal any extra damage to myth units. as a result the player could not properly counter Manicores with Jarl. He had no anti-myth unit. Hensirs are melee units so they cannot get to Manicore to kill it.
This is something that retold is going have to change because Odin just doesn't function without his Jarl.

I think Odin does pretty well at the moment and is one of the strongest Major Gods, honestly.
Hersir and Godi both count as Great Hall units so would've been getting buffs from Odin - the Godi would've made a good counter to the Manticore but Blue didn't really train any of them.
@@GARGANTUANMASKEDFISH Godi does not exist in age of mythology retold edition. they're exclusive to age of mythology extended edition. The Jarl which is Odin best Calvary unit according to patch notes has had its myth unit damage bonus removed. Odin lost because he did not build Jarl units to counter Manicore however they would not help in this version of the game.
@@dodang_9147 Jarls are still very strong. Especially strong with Ring Giver from Njord giving them +25% hit points in addition to their already strong armor. Everybody seems to go Skadi though. Fully upgraded with Ring Giver they end up with more than 300 hit points, 50 melee armor and 70 ranged armor. Fast, tanky and decent damage. Good all around. Sucks they lost their bonus vs myth units, still a great unit.

just for example for that minotaur, it normally receives 45 % piercing damage , reducing that by 15 % is cutting incoming damage by 33 % in addition thats soooo worth it if your enemy uses at least some range
That's not how it works. It doesnt stack by addition, but rather multiplication. So in the end in your example it will cut incoming damage just by another 15% or in other words turn 55% pierce armor into 61,25% pierce armor.

@@TohoBuWaha No, it actually functions as a brute ×0.85 damage multiplier on the damage the unit receives (if its like og aom). So its technically a % addition

@@TohoBuWaha No it's not? I said "multiplier" bc percentages themselves are a multipliers. The 0.85 is applied independently of the unit's armor ( = ADDED).
This 15% percentage doesn't change pierce armor value like you said
Missed timing for odin unfortunately. Was floating 1k food n gold after 21mins until the end of the game and didnt go mythic or max out his pop. Lightning storm just closed it out

why people rarely use godi the new norse hero? is it a bad unit? So far, the only player i've seen using it to counter myth units was HUSKSUPPE

why is it that people all the time just dont deploy their relics ... its cool to carry them around yeah ... but its a double advantage in a 1 vs 1 no matter how high tier it is... first of all you get the bonus and second ... your enemy does not , and those relic tend to sit on the map for eternity in the games or travel around with a busy hero , in a way they are much more worth than the relics in aoe 3 if you get the right ones and in addition its already worth ... if you cant use , but its good for your enemy to deny it at least
I wonder if people are forgetting about aggressive, defensive, and hold position stances. Sometimes it looks like units took their sweet time to start attacking what is next to them.

oi that extra 15 percent vs ranged is an Absolute S Tier on water maps... imagine any water myth unit with it its insane and there aint no hero meta on water ... you conter mythic with mythics on water , ships will be crushed, sciella öhm scylla or kraken, how many ranged resistance does a titan have again ... on him that should be a dang solid improvement , reducing remainin incomin damage by a huge amount

just reading in the old relics list ... if they didnt work the function in general, relics does not change the armor stats of units but apply a multiplier to incoming current damage ... so if a relic reduces something by 15 % , incoming damage is multiplied by 0.85 , so that in resault damage reductions are exactly that high the relic says , but still 15 % is a lot , especially for a unit with regeneration or with a healer behind, and its enough to change the outcome of fights sincerelly

I feel like villagers are too tanky, makes it too difficult to punish a greedy player fast expanding. Ladies Man committed enough there he should have been able to punish that fast expand. Hope they nerf villager health so there is some counter play there. Also, are you dog or a cat person?
