- In this video I service and set up a John Mayer signature model Fender Stratocaster. I also install my favourite strat wiring mod, a rotary switch that gives two extra humbucking series coil tones. I also have to do a minor repair and replace a bridge saddle grub screw.

Rob, blink twice if this is Tom Misch’s guitar 😉 cool video
Great video
So good Rob. Well done.
Thanks for your kind words, Nicolas.
wonderfully exhaustive, this is a keeper, thank you!
Thanks mate.
Great Video!!!!!
Thanks Riley.
Another REALLY informative & helpful video Rob, thank you! As a U.K.-based fellow bass player, it's great to compare your & Crimson Guitars' set-up process. Best of both worlds! Now, could you please do a very similar vid for a bass next, please? Cheers!
Thanks mate. I'm glad you liked the video!
When adjusting the intonation, I place a card on top of the guitar behind the bridge. When the screwdriver slips, it won't damage the finish
I'm always worried you're going to bonk a guitar on the bench, but you never seem to. I know I sure would. 😂 I like the mod you included. I'm going to add it to one of my guitars.
Ha ha. Since making these videos, I've also noticed when editing, just how close the guitar sometimes comes to the bench. Just yesterday I found some weather stripping to stick on there as a precaution. I used to have the non slip matting folded over the edge for that reason, but I got sick of retreading it every time I washed it.
Are u based in Sydney? Wouldnt mind have you look at a few of my guitars!
Sorry mate, I'm not in Sydney.
I just bought one. Is it really low output? I can’t hear anything with under volume 8
I didn't notice that the output was very low with this guitar. Perhaps there's a problem with the electronics with yours.
@@RobMods good to know I will need it checked then. Missed this when I tried it out.
