I think the Second World War and the unexpected death of her father which led to her unexpected enthronement as Queen changed her perspective on the way she lived.

When I first saw Kate's dress I was stunned as this was the dress I had in my mind for my wedding. Even hair vail and tiara, Most of the brides have their hair tied and I always taught it's wrong and loose hair with tiara and veil are the best options. I ve seen every dresses of every princesses and this one was most beautiful, elegant, simple, lovely, exquisite and princess type

I'd prefer to be somewhat like Kate. Sporty, fit, and pretty. Some people just hate her size because they can't even maintain a body like that. She's never played a sport that required quad muscles solely, only field hockey and tennis. Also, people are just purely jealous of how she looks.

Usually when people have opinions, they undermine others to make themselves feel better. I understand the preferences, but it's not right to bash them to that extent.
I mean, Kate does a lot to keep up that nice figure, but it's at least partially genetics. Everyone marvels at how slim she is only a month after giving birth to Princess Charlotte, and remember that this is without the wierdo diets, 3 nannies, & million dieticians + trainers that other celebrities have. Just her, one nanny I think, a good, healthy diet, plus the workout schedule of many stay-at-home moms. So, she has amazing genetics, a healthy lifestyle, & some sweet sense of style.

The newly over materialistic , greedy and wanting to be important society which fails to recognise that one is only a small of the part and that it is how we play that small part to benefit and support honourable things like loyalty , family , neighbourliness - consideration for others is of great meaning, importance and value. Too much , I think has been lost and maybe one day , hopefully, people will realise the emptiness of today’s values and will be able to look back at and to , the Queen and realise that she represented the very worthwhile values , still felt many . I’d wonder if you feel a similar sentiment within your comment but nonetheless I hope you receive many thanks for it and that it gives people pause for thought and to think …if not too wrapped up themselves !

@@joyfairclough4686 I think it was more than she didn't approve of the spectacle it was. Other dresses have been displayed but at themes events and such, this dress was displayed because of the media attention and public interest. And that is not royal decorum. She is an incredibly private and guarded person, and she probably felt it as an intrusion of sorts, more like bad timing for such a frivolous thing as a wedding dress display.
@@caseymetcalfe2248 I don't know what might have been particular about the timing, as this was in 2011. Perhaps she was speaking of some of the signage which was out in the corridor. As for propriety, I have to assume she didn't think she could be heard by the cameras as she made that remark, because it wasn't very gracious. That was a specially organised media event, so it would be uncouth to complain about the public interest...?

When Queen Elizabeth as is a royal tradition, gave William and Catherine the Duchy of Cambridge they became Duke and Duchess. Diana also became a Princess Consort upon her marriage to Prince Charles. That is how it works.

I am amused how she's punishing Prince Charles by not stepping down from the throne to let him rule. By the time she dies, he'll be in his eighties!!! I guess that's what happens when you fool around with a married woman while married to another one, and then marrying the mistress. Prince Charles is being punished for "his great matter". That is, in part, the point that I am making. It took Diana a long time to acquire "grace", which is what the previous poster referred to. On her wedding day, she looked, from time to time, like a nervous schoolgirl, but the event went off to perfection, and the dress was perfect for her youthful beauty. I will never forget how she looked when she alighted from the carriage. Frills and lace were the fashion, and the crumpled billowing silk skirt and sleeves were like a 17th century painting!
She was really young I thought 20 or something and I'm sure it's an anxious occasion.
