Watch 'Wardens - Episode 12' here: • Wardens | Episode 12: ...
In this episode:
Montana Game Warden Bryan Golie helps out when a hunter is injured while in the woods. Elsewhere, Wardens chase down hunters that don't stop at their check station; with surprising results.
When your job is protecting our most precious natural resources in some of the nation’s most remote areas, there is rarely a dull moment. Wardens chronicles the lives of Conservation Officers in America. The show features the men and women who protect public lands, from ride-alongs on interstate game checks, to anti-poaching sting operations; from remote snowmobile trails in grizzly bear country, to unforgiving white-water rapids. While the focus of Wardens is enforcement of regulations, the show takes special precautions to ensure the general public understand those who would violate the rules are the minority and the vast majority of encounters with our Wardens are law-abiding citizens.

There are so many comments against game wardens. I’m extremely grateful for them. They have my respect. You have nothing to be worried about unless you know you’re being careless or engaging in illegal activities. Wardens help ensure that our natural resources and opportunities aren’t ruined by careless, unethical people.
I had a warden stop me to check my licenses a while back during hunting season. The very next day, someone came to buy a heater from me off Facebook marketplace-it turned out to be the same warden, and his mother was my neighbor. We had a good laugh.
Brian Golie is a great warden and an all around good guy....he makes a tough job look easy....excellent job warden golie
" He's taking your deer, I'm taking your beer!" That's funny right there!
Got to love a dad out with his girls hunting. Parenting done right. Good job dad
Shout out to the camera man who helped carry that dude down.
Caller- I broke my leg on a mountain.. Warden- do you have your hunting license?
😂😂😂
Lol
The thing is I already know you've broke a law, I just need to find out which one
Like any other law enforcement officer, game wardens are no different. Their job is to steal your money and freedoms. Remember folks, if you want to hunt your food you have to get permission and pay the government first all while following a book full of rules and if you break one rule, you're a criminal and have to give the government more money.
In Colorado purchasing a hunting, fishing license or OHV registration covers SAR expenses.
Great seeing family hunting together, even better seeing the young ones score nice bucks. This is what true hunters do. Teach the skills
So glad I can watch this show. I used to live in Great Falls. I miss Montana so bad.
Aaaaah! These gals is why you have to wear hunter orange vests!!! Makes sense!!!
It's funny when an animal makes a truck look small.. beautiful horses!! Good show
The horses said license and registration please 😂😂😂😂
Maximum respect to all the wardens. What a tough job.
"Where the heck is our help?" Camera guy gives a sly grin...
Cracked windshield deserves a ticket 😂
Those horses looks like wild horses but they seems very friendly
They're off limits under almost all conditions... and they know we got food too 🤣
Great show yet again!!! Beautiful Horses🐴🐎🐴🐎
Them horses has his back if it goes south lol
Another wonderful job done by the great wonderful game wardens of keeping our wildlife and everything safe thank you guys very much for everything you do.
Wardens should carry whistles for locating other wardens.
And carry stronger radios like the Australians use in the backcountry
They need GPS pinger thingys.
My thought exactly.
These were filmed 10 plus years ago. With the increase in technology & satellites, hopei ts reduced or stopped down communication.
"You been drinking?"
"Hell no!"
Camera pans to 476 beer cans in truck bed.
The way he said “hell no” had me convinced at first.
I shot a very nice bull in Montana and we left the meat back at the kill site where I had cut the elk up and put meat in garbage bags and packed out the head and cape. and was taking thhe head to the taxidermist. The warden had set up a sigh to stop and we did, he saw the elk and asked where we got it.and where was the meat? He said it was an extream size bull for that area and asked if we had been in a different unit. Next he made us return to camp and hike back up 2 miles to where I dressed the elk. He could not get me for wasting the meat, because it was clear that I was coming back with it, once I had more help from camp since I was alone when I killed the elk. Tne one thing that helped me was that the arrow was still partly through the liver which match the entrance wound in the hide. It was plain to see that the elk died there. He told us that the reason he didnt belive me is first an elk of that size is normaly killed in the next unit and it was only 10am opening day, so he was sure I shot it the day before. No, it was just pure luck that a group of elk had bedded down over night 75 yards from my small overnight tent and when I walked out with my bow after about 50 yards they all started to standup out of the waste high grass, so my hunt was over in about 10 minuets.
3 DUIs and another one. Gonna be sad when he hurts someone because of it.
I live in Region 4. Seems like 20-25% of the people drive drunk or drink while driving.
They have Bud Light that’s the problem
Thanks gang
Dam 3 dwis and still have a driver's license that's insane
A few years ago here in TX, we had a guy with 11 prior DUI convictions and two more cases pending, picked up on yet another one, still with the hardship license that was only supposed to be to go to work and certain approved errands. Got caught after he hit two parked cars on the way home from a bar at 1AM.
Judge finally put him in prison, 10 years for each of the pending charges and the new one.
THANK YOU SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH SIR'S. I WISH I COULD BE BACK IN MONTANA.I USE TO WORK IN BIG SANDY. I REALLY MISS MONTANA I WORKED FROM 1974 TO 1975 . PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND ALL THE WARDEN'S IN MONTANA. MICHAEL WARDEN PAYETTE,IDAHO.
Hello from Caldwell, Idaho.
I know not every shot can be clean, but geez no one mentioned to her to get back on the range after it took four rounds to kill that poor deer?
Missing and making bad shots is just a part of hunting it will happen to everyone that hunts and if they say they haven’t then they are lying about something, such a dumb comment
You definitely aren’t a hunter so don’t come making dumb comments
@@Mtoutdoorsman ive never had a bad shot on a kill besides a couple running hogs not training at the range is not a good excuse to be shooting like that if you cant shoot at that range learn how to get closer
@@ColtPinky Seriously! I mean, if it's too far don't take the shot people. The whole thing about hunting is doing it in an ethical manner..,
@@MtoutdoorsmanSpeaking of dumb comments! Missing and making bad shots is part of being a poor marksman and only relates to hunting if a poor marksman takes his lack of skill into the field and starts flinging lead indiscriminately.
That broken windshield puts that warden in violation of the law.
not in Montana.....if you dont have one, its obvious, you aint been there long
@@truthsayer35 you made me look it up. I guess you are right, unless the crack obstructs vision. As a truck driver this quote matches what I was taught: “Federal regulations require drivers to have a clear vision of the road. Windshield cracks or chips smaller than ¾-inch in diameter are permitted if they are not located within 3″ of another crack.”
Don't break the law, but also don't incriminate yourself. It's as much about profit as it is preservation.
It's not about preservation. They take an oath to enforce the laws they're told to enforce, not to preserve anything but a perpetual revenue stream, selling access to what isn't theirs.
Only 3 dui’s 🤣😂🤣 hell naw I ain’t drinking !! !!
Allowing that idiot to drink and drive and handle a loaded firearm and shoot while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is totally irresponsible, very dangerous, and should be highly illegal.
We can Fly a helicopter to check on a wounded bear. But we can't fly helicopter to come get a wounded man.
Their job is to bust people. Their resources are directed at busting people. Their job isn't to help injured or stranded people, but they will if they have nothing else going on.
The lack of proper emergency medical response resources and severe lack of training is very worrying.
Thats why they call it remote. And wilderness and stuff...
@@thomasskrappy3250 come to Australia and try again. Way more remote, way better emergency services with top notch training and gear.
I live in rural Montana. Our taxes are already way too high. When someone needs something out here, we call friends and neighbors. Government is a scam that people like you keep falling for.
Here in B.C., making a false or misleading statement to an officer can get you a one year license suspension.
Sheesh none of them girls can shoot 😂 dad work on that next
The over harvest by out of state hunter and letting slide for $235 ticket is unacceptable.
On the phone while driving 😂😂 these game wardens should be ticketed
Who else wonder why they don't replace that windshield! Its a ticket in Mi and for safety of the airbags to work best needs to be replace!
Not a violation in Montana. Needs to obscure your vision. That little crack is no problem. Bad look for FWP though…
If you slip your tape measure 3 inches below the base of the horns on my deer you'll find that tape where the sun don't shine.
Icy lol it’s snow not ice
Me too
with all the hunters in Canada and the US they would be like another army , no terrorist's could get close enough to hurt them with all these sharp shooters with their deer rifles
And i thought Minnesota had rough game warrdens and wildlife laws lol. Sheesh, stop for coffe in camo in Montana and your getting asked for your hunting permit lol
I couldn't hurt in Montana Because game warden think they know everything.
oh, because you know more....got it
Broken leg is life threatening?
can be in that country...ever hear of hypothermia?
Up in the high country during hunting season, where the weather can be 80 degrees one afternoon and -40 degrees by the next morning, yes, even a sprained ankle can be life-endangering.
"i know your drinking and driving with a loaded rifle but we got a problem with you deer license, you shot a doe with a buck tag" !?!??! Wtf.
Rescue footage, it looks like officers all need an emergency set of hiking crampons in their kit. Department won't buy them? Get them for your own safety. There could easily have been another man down if a stretcher bearer twisted his leg the wrong way ... like their patient. Just saying. Stay safe out there. People depend on you ... [besides your family members]
it wasl 11 years ago... but im sure they have it now
I hope so. Still ... red tape and policy can cause havoc ... Wonder if there is any way to check without making waves?@@edvin_hook
I dont know if yall can do this but ive tried getting deer close enough to measure a deer antlers but i just cant get one to agree to it they just dont trust me
😅 I don't understand why they don't open season on Wild horses. The state could make a lot of money.
Because so many people would have a fit that’s why. Also as friendly as those ones were what in gods green earth would be the point or the challenge?
@@bigmike9558I’d be fun 😂
Those horses were 100% domestic there but otherwise I do think we need to view feral horses as invasive species
@@tigerdrake7225They are in Colorado.
i'D PROBABLY WATCH THIS IF YOU DIDNT REPLAY 1 MIN OF PREVIOUSE TAPE AFTER EVERY BRAKE.
Is your gun unloaded? Yes..NOT!
It’d be nice if yall would minus the music in the begging
Need that broken windshield fixed
ANY amount of drugs or alcohol impairs your judgment, coordination, and reaction time. Therefore this immature action is highly irresponsible, very dangerous, and should be highly illegal.
Can’t believe they didn’t give him a shot of morphine !!!! Wtf???
In this episode of Montana Tyrants we interrogate a bunch of kids in search of a crime and then try and recruit future tyrants to illegally destroy peoples rights.
Right!! You can’t go drive down a trail and explore just having a good time not drinking or doing drunks but we’re gonna come after you like you just robbed a bank! I hate game wardens
that dude who teaches his son to sneak around and him lying that poor kid aint got a chance to turn out good. He needs to get away from his father now and save him self. No big deal really just pay the fines if you want to be a dumb stick.
You're at the legal limit, so im not going to release the truck to you? I'm definitely not for drunk driving but that doesn't make any sense. If your ok to drive then your ok to drive right?
Montana needs to shut out of state hunters down.
They aren't an issue. The worst detriment to Montana game are the lawmakers, the FWP, and the Montana hunters. The lawmakers decide to annihilate the animals in an area, the FWP sells tags for all the breeding population in that area for several years, and the hunters happily harvest. That's why elk numbers have been cut to 1/8 of what they were 25 years ago, and in many places, the elk are gone. Happened with the goats, sheep, moose, too.
Apparently windshield laws don’t apply to law enforcement!
Or using cell phones, the good old days.
Not a violation in Montana.
Imagine windshield laws in Montana... Lol
@@scrappydog175also not illegal to be used a cell phone except in certain cities.
apparently you make rocks look smart.
I would have thought it unconstitutional to create a roadblock whereby one is restricted from travel BEFORE and WITHOUT suspicion of a crime. Sadly, I would have been wrong. Tanner v. Idaho Fish and Game (US District Court) said the stop was okay because it was very minor in light of the greater good. I diaagree. The constitution does not consider "the greater good" because that is subjective.
The fact remains that there is ZERO Reasonable Articulable Suspicion that a CRIME is afoot PRIOR to stopping or detaining or questioning - REGARDLESS how short the delay is. They DO NOT have a suspicion of a crime - which absolutely required. They are phishing for a crime to reteoactively justify the stop.
While "for the greater good" sounds quasi-acceptable, citizens are surrendering their autonomy. They will get used to that encroachment making the next one easier to swallow... They will argue:
"Since we are stopping them to ask already, is it such a big deal to require ID as well?" It's just so ever a small inconvenience..."
Or
"Since we are stopping them to ask already, is it such a big deal to search there vehicle?"
You say it'll never happen but that's exactly how it happens - One Baby Step At A Time - until you're rights are GONE and you're required to "Show your Papers!" just to go to the store.
NO CRIME - NO STOP!
Every State makes laws that violate the Constitution, and every LEO enforces those "laws." Hunting "laws" are just one arena full of examples.
The music is so unnecessary and really kills the video. Doesnt even fit the event happening. 😑
The show is a decade old…
I thought a cracked windshield was against the law 🤔
If I lived there I would hunt in another state. Rights violations are being violated in that one
I wonder if they gave that guy a shot of morphine before they tried to splint his leg
The female warden is hopeless.
The music is soooooo annoying
Wtf is a Hunner?
That yeah I need to get a real job and quit trying to pick on everyone and worry about whoever drinks a beer while they are trying to enjoy. Their time outside he might should take a Peel for cramps I think hes going through the change.
3:41 Kwin Kooka or however u spell her name takes her powers too seriously. Butt checking hunters, Seriously ??? I’ve had to show my hunting license & drivers license, but my goodness !!! Nothing that intense !!! 😮😂😊 😂😮😊 😂😮😊
Sounds like these guys would rather throw away meat or take it home to feed their own families. All that time and effort for a young fella shooting his deer for a drunk uncle. Half you guys should be ashamed of yourselves and im sure you can figure out which half.
Wow you guys are dumb when it comes to DUI why the hell make a person do a sobriety test then make them blow in the machine just skip the ST an go straight to the breath test if they're over then they're over then just take em back to the station for an evidential breath test
why do you drink and deer hunt Wardens are every were? just saying
Wardens aren't everywhere in Montana. I have only ever seen one in the field, and that was at a popular fishing spot on the Missouri river. I have only stopped at one checking station while hunti g, because I have only ever passed one that was open. It was staffed with liars, btw.
Did your dad bought you a girl rifle weatherby Camilla 6.5 creedmore
Ok, these girls made these deer suffer. That is not an ethical kill. Children need to be taught how to hunt properly. Gut shots and blowing pieces off an animal is not the way to teach someone to hunt. Should not have been aired on tv neither !!!
The pretty girl mention was cringe af. Some dudes just shouldnt talk
Cry
It was 2011, more acceptable socially back then
@@northerntoyota7584i will give ya that.
I hate game wardens
Im guessing her tore his mcl acl or both .. not a leg break unless he totally fell
He stated later in the interview that it was in fact a spiral fracture.
