    Thanks for this, have used your info as blueprint to flash MicroPython and it just worked, just like any other ESP32 device. The R4 browned out when I tried to start Wi-Fi connection, but using a spare NodeMCU board as 3v3 suply resolved.

    Thanks for the detailed video! Am currently struggling with getting the wired soldered to the pins on the minir4.. but somehow i am going to figure it out :D

      Make sure your iron is set to about 330-350C and make sure you heat up pins to solder sticks to them

      @@notenoughtech Man, that was a ride. After many adjustments I got the soldering part figured out. But then I tried to flash it. What I didn't know was that I had to connect RX on the MINIR4 to the TX on the FTDI (and vice versa).. well I checked everything from resoldering everything, trying different computers with different operating systems and trying multiple drivers until I realized that you had to to cross pair the connection wires.
      Well not that I have figured it out, I flashed all my MINIR4's in a single afternoon :)
      Thanks for the GPIO Template (and the video and the great article!)

    Hello. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I use the miniR4 device as a bridge with the sonoff R5 switchman scene button. However, the R5 switchman scene button does not work in lan mode. Can this be run with tasmota? I want to use the R5 scene button in land mode only with the home assistant dependent. To avoid being dependent on the internet connection. Thanks.

      Short answer, no. I've ordered an M5 and two R5s (3-gang) because that's the only way to get my 3 way switch (plus bathroom light switch) smart and work together, but the custom RF protocol that the R5 uses hasn't been tasmotized yet (and probably never will be), so it has to be used in ewelink mode, which is a real bummer.

    Still trying to decide whether to flash with Tasmota or not as my Home Assistant ewelink integration seems to hang & require a refresh every so often.
    I bought S-MATE2 devices to go with my MINIR4 units & am not sure if they will still work together if I use Tasmota.....

      I think there must be a configuration command or something. I'm not 100 % sure how with works with HA.

    Hello Mat, I'm using this device with S2 connected to an external switch to the live wire (S1 remains unconnected). However Tasmota does not register a switch press. Any idea on what could be going wrong?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Před 6 měsíci

      Loop around from S1 - switch - S2 this should work
