The C6ZR1 is and always will be a classic. What a wonderful piece of machinery.
I agree. However, I would go on and call the c6 z06 even more classical. It was more of an engineering marvel imo (Valve grenading aside). The Zr1 was, although great, bogged down by a roots style s/c. I wish they put on a centrifugal one to really drive home what the corvette stood for: A true and refined supercar.

The C6 ZR1 was the first car I ever rode in that felt “sport bike” fast. A truly impressive car. Even by today’s standards. Love it.
I ride a Honda CRF 1100 Africa twin on the weekends and a C7 Z06 ate me alive. I even optioned for the dual clutch model and I ride on Skinko 705 model tires, so I hook up and shift flawless. Love my bike though, nothing like throwing knobbies on and being able to ride a highway and take any dirt trail I'd feel like
I had a 2009 ZR1 and ran against a Honda CBR900RR from about 80mph to close to 130. I was in 3rd gear all the time till I hit the rev limiter and turned as my highway exit was up and I had to turn to get to work. The CBR went from it's front wheel being right at my back bumper when we hit it to it's back wheel being even with my front bumper. I always wished I could have hit 4th gear and kept going as usually cars do better against bikes as speed increases because of the better aero. I definitely did not win that one, but it was damn close for a new stock ZR1 again a basically 1 litter bike.

I have ran with or beat stock hellcats with my c5 that is na.. its embarrassing tbh because they weigh so much its almost pointless power.. usually because of weight a 500whp vet can beat like 650whp mustang cars but challengers and chargers need like 750whp to beat 500 to 550whp vetts.. power to weight is everything.. this is why there's always that one civic thats making 300whp and somehow fast as shit and surpriseslots of people. its cuz he's in a 1800lb stripped out tin can lmao

I had a 2013 mustang gt and the type of people and meets was a completely different vibe compared to the corvette guys and gals.. Great people who have their head on their shoulders.
I love the c6 zr1 so much. It kills and outperformed many supercars of its era that was way more expensive than it.

The c6 Zr1 is still king IMO. The 70 more hp is not enough for a 4200 lbs house to beat the zr1. But to call the Hellcat slow is just not fine. Not a lot of cars with the same sound, affordable price tag and insurance can do a 9 secs 60-130, and it's still got 4 doors. But the ZR1 is still king.
It’s actually more than that never believe posted hp numbers dyno power to the wheels are what matters. Most hellcats put 640-670 whp to the wheels stock with red eyes putting over 700 hp tonthe wheels. C6 zr1 puts 540-550 whp to the wheels stock.
I think he was falsely being antagonistic to make people sign up for the driving event, I don't think he's seriously calling hellcats slow.

Those C6 ZR1's have been shown to trap 131-132 on a cool night. Also in a roll race a Hellcat auto is actually at a disadvantage against a manual ZR1. The ZR1 is gonna have immediate response at the jump while the Hellcat A8 will have a delay by comparison. Hellcat would've had a better chance from a dig but the ZR1 is overall clearly the faster car

The Dodge guys always have trouble accepting the fact that ZR1’s are faster since they more than likely have never been in one. They just don’t know how stupid fast they are. The C7 ZR1 will beat a Demon from a roll, or on a non prepped track. My C7 ZR1 beat a Lambo Hurican from a roll

I think that massive weight difference is the main variable more than any transmission is. You'd have to have something ridiculous like a PDK to DCT for a transmission to make a huge difference. The gearing of the ZR1 and the weight is also more than enough to overcome a 70hp variance.

Corvettes are faster because it cuts through the air and weighs a lot less. Horsepower isn’t the be all to all if you missing the whole package
The C6 ZR! is an absolute street beast. The SRT Hellcat is basically a 4 door sedan with more power than it can use. It's funny 638 horsepower outruns 707 horsepower.

I had a 2013 427 and that thing was a animal. Do you know how many cars I destroyed where the driver thought it was just a regular convertible grand sport. Not noticing the bulge on the hood with the 427 emblem on it. So I can only imagine what type of beast that ZR1 is.

If you want a super fun sedan that'll go 200k miles easy with basic maintenance then scoop up an ISF or GSF! Underrated cars. Slower than the cars you mentioned but they can be boosted up to 700hp
