Team Ichang is so funny. I need to say this. There is no right or wrong way to eat banana leaf with papadom. Any way can. So long as one appreciate and enjoy the delicious food. No standard SOP needed 🤭🤭. But Ichang is so cute. Very strick on each steps . 🤣🤣. While Jimmy wants to eat and have a big tummy only 🤣🤣

As an Indian my self can assure you guys it doesn't matter, total free style. Totally depends on your mood. I want to make papadam/appalam as rice like substance then break it early on your rice and combine it together. Usually will do like this for my 2nd round of rice so can have different taste.
Also can hold it in your left hand if you gona bite it little by little for every scoop of rice you take with your right hand.
    Cheers.

Next time on your next banana leaves experience - get rasam ( sour soup come in tiny cup where it’ll help you to digest well ). Since you love the bitter Mellon so much ( I do as well) you can ask fora second refill with no additional charges. Hopefully next time you can also try “banjir” drenched your pillow rice with the curry sauces !

This very important question 🙂. To be fair Ichang eats her food like a connoisseur, I understand where she's coming from, tasting all the different elements 1st n then letting it all mix in de end, she wants to prolong this experience n have a lot of patience to savour each different bite.. N yet Jimmy eats like a normal guy, he just, wants to add everything all at once. For me I do both, sometimes like Ichang, other times like Jimmy, it just depends what i feel like doing on that day.... Such a cute fight....but guys, BOTH of U r wrong in one aspect, next time U must banjir Ur rice with all the curries, flood that rice with curries, one shouldn't taste white rice, it must taste of rice totally soaked m drenched with curries. Now that is banana leaf .... hahahaha, I also join in Ur fight,...

Hi, both of u, there's no right or wrong whilst eating banana leaf, u can eat however u want it to be. crushing papadom later or at the very first instance or just wanna have it alone also can. it is up to ur own preference. it is a nice cuisine and yes, it should be widely known but better to keep things low as I don't want that shop to be overcrowded. hehe.. love your content and keep it up. both of u are cute and kawai.

Crispy fried snake gourd is on the spoon (2:45). There is another type called bitter gourd that is sliced in a rounded shape and then, fried.

Everyone enjoy food differently. Same as how Malaysian has different race and different food cultures but we don't tell each others how to eat. It would be chaotic. Just enjoy it anyway you want and be polite even if you don't like it

You guys are the cutest! If thats how people have "big fight", the world gonna be a better place 😂😂 Anyway, there is no one way to do it for me. I follow my mood lol Sometimes I just crush papadom first, sometimes I eat without it first. Or somtimes I do it both at the same time, put rice and curry, chew a bit then stuff my mouth with papadom 😂

so funny how u guys have a little dispute over how you should eat papadom xD i personally like to put the mixed rice with curry on top of the papadom and then bite it. as if the papadaom is my spoon haha. try it someday! its fun to eat it that way and somehow even more delicious. well to me at least xD

This is my favourite banana leaf rice shop. Glad you tried it. My favourite is the red fried bitter gourd too. Do try the fish curry. It is great. I usual have 2 scoops of fish curry and mix with 1 scoop of chicken curry and 1 scoop of daal.

You can eat papadom any way you like it. I like it by itself. So don't fight over it. You should try pajeri nenas, since you like curries. Try pineapple curry ( pajeri nenas). You will never see pineapple the same way again.

Nirvana is the MEGA banana leaf restaurant. My All time favourite. Should pour some yogurt onto the rice and curry so the curry taste much better and richer. Their pickles Acar is homemade and totally taste different but delicious. SHould finish the meal with their teh tarik or nescafe.. delish!!!

Eat the rice and curry 1st and while chewing get a bite of the papadom and let your mouth do the blending of both. Walla you have best of both worlds!
You both really enjoy our all time favourites here. Likewise, I too need to go Japan after it is open, to get the real taste of your Japanese authentic food. Cheers

I don't crush papadom at all 🤣 Instead I just bite off a piece when I need it... because then the papadom can stay crispy longer.

You have to try the mutton varuval (dry) , chicken 65 & fried sotong! You could ask for 'rassam' , its like a soup which is sourish and slightly spicy. It helps cut off the fattiness from all the curry and meat! Dont be shy with the curry, you have to get a good amount of all the curries or whatever that was your favourite. As for the drink, try sweet lassi (yogurt drink). I promise you that it will be your lunch & dinner cause it will be so filling! And you can always as for more fried snake gourd (the red fried vegetable), personally i love it too!

The red fried vege is snake gourd and there are days that bitter melon take turn. Bitter melon surely would be bitter than the snake gourd yet both still taste good when include in the banana leaf set and Sri Nirwana Maju just know perfectly how to make the deal. Btw to fellow Malaysians, we surely will be so excited if to come across with iChang couple. However, hope we could be more respectful by letting them finish their meal first before a request for photography. It is less descent to interrupt one amid his/her meal I presume.

Nirvana, Bangsar! Our banana leaf haunt. 😍 I always have mine with rasem and tairu. I would crush my papadom as and when I eat my rice because if I crush and mix with rice before eating, it will get soggy and lose its crunch.
