Raley having enough time to bail out before Vlad swung was amazing.
Rizzo striking out Freeman and Freeman's reaction was my favorite combination. I wish Rizzo gave a big fist pump.
I think it's fun to see a position player pitch, whether it's a slow strikeout or a nasty pitch that makes you question why aren't they a reliever?
Just like 5 years ago, Chapman was the only one to throw over 100 consistently and now every team has at least one guy who does that. It’s amazing how the velocity evolved so quickly
dont forget how high the rate of injury is now though.
Chapman changed the game. Everyone was absolutely astonished and amazed at what he was doing when he came in then everyone started doing it and even still the fact he can get up there to 103 at times and consistently stay without injury is impressive
@@matthewrodriguez8517 Every league is seeing that now; Michael Vick proved the running QB can win in the NFL, now every QB needs mobility outside the pocket. Steph Curry brought high volume 3 point shooting to the NBA, now every team launches 3s. Not sure who that guy is for the NHL... maybe Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin.
That rizzo pitch was in a perfect spot!👌
One of my favorite clips ever. And yeah it really wasnt a bad pitch 😂
The fact they’re good friends makes it so much better. Rizzo literally shrugs his shoulders like “ you whiffed it!? “ 😂
He packed that curveball tight... right in the corner.. just beautiful
Bring out the old Jamie Moyer highlights. Hard to go much slower than that.
Russell martin, longtime dodgers catcher, had some great strikeouts about 10 years ago or so
Chapman is the beast 💪
How do you leave out Brock Holt's 31 MPH against the A's in 2021 ?
or Willians Astudillo's 41 MPH against the Royals, same year ?
indeed
those are not strikeouts
fastball swingless strikes are so satisfying
Aroldis Chapman is a beast
Slow ball = (Finally) America's pastime returns!!!
Why was it almost all of these pitches would have tied the game if it was a home run
6:34 "I'm not even gonna say got em, 1 out."
The incomparable Duane Kuiper 🤣
some of these slow ones are position players trying their best, and some are just zack greinke 😂
It’s funny to see the difference
I remember Rowdy
I’m glad that I don’t have to see a 104 mph fastball
Chapman went from 105.5 to under 100 with in 5 years
now hes back to 105
Velo will naturally decline, but he got it back by enhancing his mechanics and staying working hard.
Nice how Chapman got a ring this year
@@dunno5110 not quite, his fastest was 103.8 this year
What's wrong with throwing 100 or 99, or 98. Only 25% of pitchers can throw over 95.
duran had a strikeout at 105 this year i believe
He had two at 104.0 - the one shown against Mike Ford, and another on May 24th against Casey Schmidt.
Those are the only strikeouts at 104+ since Hicks had one at 104.2 in 2019.
Chapman had 3 in 2016, along with 1 from Mauricio Cabrera.
I think Duran hit 104.6 but wasn't a strikeout pitch. So glad he throws for my team it's some nasty stuff
lincecum is the nastiest pitcher
Duran?
They copied me
no Hunter Greene 105??
Hunter Greene has never thrown 105 in the majors. Topped out at 102.6, which was hit for a single.
Had a 102.4 mph strikeout against Nolan Gorman last year, fastest K was 101.4 this season against Carlos Santana.

What is this then?@@Benisuber1
No Willians Astudillo blistering 42 mph heat??? FOR SHAME!
He never struck anyone out. 7 career innings, 4 walks and no Ks.
@@Il_Exile_lI Shh. Stop overanalyzing. It's supposed to be funny.
I think pro hitters do worse against position players lmao
