Should probably make ur own structural frame for that thing. That composite & basic frame wont holdup as well as you'd hope. Not like you'd have a lot of ground to cover for frame work in such a small car anyway.
Do NOT clamp on our use the composite as a load bearing structural point. It's a fiberglass/aluminum composite, it's not designed for structure.
You guys gotta try and keep the interior bits functional. It'd be mad if everything inside works (radio, ac, ect)
No thanks
Call up Aging Wheels. He will likely drive there to pick up your discards from this vehicle. He has two of these.
Now you need to put the EV motor into the Hayabusa
My thoughts exactly 😂
The sacrilege😂
Best suggestion!
God no. Making a great bike gutless isn’t the plan.
If you think power to weight ratio, the bike would get more mileage and it could go up steeper inclines.
"Grindhard Plumbing Co., making sketchy things sketchier since 2018" needs to be on merch.
hahahaha For sure, man!!
Would def wear that! 😂
Totally agree!
Robert from "Aging Wheels" has two solos so he might want your spares
You spelt "will be more giddy then a 12 year old with a metric ton of candy" incorrectly
Aging wheels has the G1, this is a G3. There are no interchangeable components.
@@rdp30000 when you own weird cars you learn very quickly parts are parts. Anything you can get your hands on will be useful.
@@rdp30000 Not with that attitude
I'm pretty sure this IS Roberts red one from the video. It's his g3. He mentioned it not getting recalled because it was stolen and recovered by an insurance company, and they said this one came from an insurance auction.
DO NOT rely on it for a structural load bearing point. It's a fiberglass/aluminum composite with an edge fill, it's used in aircraft. I use to work with it building aircraft interiors.
Your mounting points need to go to an existing steel/aluminum structure. The composite WILL disintegrate clamped like that.
Edit: I watched again and it appears that he is using the existing factory mounting points for the new plates. Compare 4:12 and 7:22.
Sorry I was in a hurry, I needed to get to work.
One more thing, WILL, WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES!!!
Just watched ElectraMeccanica chassis video, the composite is the frame, and you cut a chunk out, BUILD A FRAME!
That's how the original rear subframe is installed tho..
@@PennerFab but there is that warning in the car about it not being safe as a normal car, perhaps it wasn't just because of the missing airbag.
😂 pain is a great teacher!
this channel isn't trying to make vehicles that last my bro!!!
Just wondering if you think the battery is in part structural (like a side impact bar) and/or required to keep a low centre of gravity?
I see new swag in the future. "Guaranteed Accuracy to 0.1 Wills"
We need this on merch
About coolant expiring it has less to do about it retaining its non freezing properties and more to do about the additives falling out of suspension and the anti electrolysis additives wearing out
This, I'm a mechanic and that comment kind of got a laugh out of me so I was going to say the same thing before I saw your comment. People seem to think that maintenance intervals are some grand conspiracy to get more money out of you (I mean sure they do make money off of maintaining your car for you) but to a point the manufacturer does genuinely want your car/bike/tractor to last and to run well throughout it's life. Those recommendations aren't just made up nonsense.
@@thatguyb3rt I'd like to 3rd this. Coolant doesn't last forever in any application. Although, inverter cooling loops do tend to last for a very long time.
@@thatguyb3rtwell, other than new car companies saying their transmission fluid is "good for life" sure I mean I guess if the life of the car doesn't exceed 100k miles then I suppose they're right. That and the removal of the dipstick just never sat well with me
Yeah they not the brightest

That baby cage for the engine is GLORIOUS. Really well made Will!
He has grown soooo much in skill over the time he has been with the channel. I just hope he survives this monstrosity!
Super impressed with his skills.
Because of course you did.
Qfb
6:00 "ran when parked. $10,000 firm, no lowballing."
Probably just a wiring issue
Will has really leveled up his fab skills! He's putting in some great work on this build.
@AgingWheels might take the Solo parts off your hands
I will buy those parts.
Hey Will! You comments at 10 min. "I'm moving up in the world", you sure am! Great work! It's really nice to see you improve your skills. Keep up the good work!
Yeah! I love watching Will hone his fabrication skills.
I love the addition of classical piano music. It adds that note of premium sophistication to the Grind Hard madness! 👍 🤣
Will's fabrication skills really took the high road 👌 also the classic music with the build montage is absolutely satisfying ❤❤
3:18 I'm so glad Ethan's usually in front of the camera instead of holding it. 😂
ikr HAHAH
No way, hi Ada. I follow Neeb's Gaming for about 7 years now.
3:11 will as a unit of measurement is hilarious
I noticed the music around 5:00 and it goes really oddly well with the tear down... Well done whoever did the editing! lol
Grind Hard is quickly becoming One of my favorite CZcams channels. I am a quality content connoisseur and have been following these Idaho boys for at least 3 years now. The production quality is next level. I love their optimism, camaraderie, and excellent building skills. This channel is a smorgasbord of goodness. Similar to the Cletus McFarland show, you just never know what you're going to get. But you most certainly know it's going to be great! 👁️👍🔔
I love watching Will’s growth in between every build! It’s almost like he spends every second of downtime in engineering school. His skills literally triple on every damn build!! Total inspiration!
I do appreciate all of the bangin ASMR in this. The music. The rain. The chain sliding across the sprocket. Wonderful.
Will is getting pretty damn good at building stuff
Bro, your fabrication skills have evolved SO much. You are doing great, being around Ethan is worth its weight in gold.
LOVE how the angle grinder filings can just easily fall into the throttle bodies hahaha
You know, I'm proud of Will. He's come a long way since he started. He's shaping up to be a good fabricator.
Friggin Rad!
Will has come suuuuuuuuuuuch a long way on design and fabrication.
Proud of you buddy
Ethan's rant about coolant was personal for me. I feel the same way! If it isn't contaminated with rust, oil, or other stuff that isn't glycol or water, you leave it be. It doesn't expire, it just is. I've straight up drained coolant from a vehicle to replace something like a thermostat, and then put the same coolant back in after it was ran through a rag stuffed in a funnel as a filter. No issues, it just works.
Yep why waste it if it's just the same as the stuff you've just removed from it?
Also don't do this on your front lawn glycol is literally weed killer and it will destroy the grass.
@@jameshatton4405 Oh I'm aware, I've used old skanky coolant I don't trust to murder driveway weeds, doesn't take much
except that's not true at all. There are additives in different kinds of coolant to inhibit certain things/reactions. These additives expire and fall out of solution, which can lead to excessive corrosion inside an engine. Almost no coolant nowadays is just glycol+water. They all contain additives to extend the life of your engine.
The anti corrosion additives in the coolant can only prevent so much corrosion, and if your coolant is too old the inside of your block will start rusting.
That being said, that takes a long time and i 100% have reused coolant, and will continue to in some situations.
This Is in my opinion. Will's best build yet. I can't wait to see this thing blasting down the street.
There’s about 20 of these “cars” brand new sitting behind a fenced section of my local junk yard. Still have the plastic wrap on them
You guys are crazy!... Crazy is my favourite 🤟
1:50 - A composite is any material made up of 2 or more components. Concrete is a composite (cement + aggregate). Carbon fiber is only a composite after you add the epoxy resin. Before that, it's just a carbon fabric. In this case it looks like an aircraft-grade aluminum + polymer composite designed to minimize weight.
Wills fab skills have improved dramatically! I love seeing it!
Ethan makes me want to do pushups
4:41 coining the name now. The Hya-Solo
You will probable want to use dual chain and sprocket setup as the added weight of the Solo will be a lot of stress on the driveline. There is a busa swap on a Smart Car here on CZcams and it works pretty well. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
It was great watching Ethan get better and better at building, now we get to experience it again with will. He’s definitely getting better! Well done my dude!
Very enjoyable. Like that you cleaned up. I have always wanted i trike like this. With good sound system and really nice seat
Super cool to meet you today. Exactly the same as on screen 😅and wish you had some pictures of the 1000cc Coleman side project sounds wild.
i love how much will is learning and and progressing into a great fabricator.
You always bring something unique to the table, can't get enough!
this has to be a bot account I see this account in every car "youtuber's" comment section
@@Unthawed_Pie yah they do this shit so you click on the profile and click the sketchy link in the bio. literally trying to scam lonely ppl ☠
Looking good, off to a great start.
You guys are MAD!!!! Love the adventure of Will taking on bigger challenges. Love you guys.
Crazy to see how far Ethan has come and then watching Will follow him and make more elaborate parts too. You guys are literally living my dream. Let me know if you guys need any other hands 😂😂
Return the vets ring you have their info on old registration
This dude over here making demands like these good kind men were planning to steal it or something lmao 🤣
I just started watching this video and as soon as he found ring I texted the same thing and then I noticed what you said I hope they do the right thing
Its a 10 dollar ring mate. Get over it.
Are you going to try to return that ring?
To whom? Unless someone comes forward. That car had been passed around.
Good job Will! Has been so fun watching you learn as you go and becoming a better fabricator day by day!
A Carbon Fiber / Aluminum Honeycomb Core: used for high performance applications like aerospace. Made it to offer high strength, high stiffness and still be light weight. To be honest I'm impressed they used it.
You know its a good day when a new Grind Hard Co. video drops
Thinking the ring belonged to the owner, you should really return it.
So is Will like, Ethan's apprentice? His projects are getting better and better. Either Will is a quick learner or Ethan is a great teacher. Great stuff, guys!
06:54 his definition of "fully suited up" 😅
Now take the hayabusa frame, and put a 670 Harbor freight engine in it.

Awesome music!!! Loved the classical, while yall took the motor out! Love it keep it up ❤
Would you, or anyone, know the piece at 9:38? I'm blanking on the name..
Will you're getting so good at fabricating it's awesome to watch.
That is one awesome build. Can't wait to see this done.Great show guys✌️
Go, Will, Go. Love to see you learning and making progress!
I remember when Will spoke like" huhuh like bro " he sounded like a kid I couldn't take seriously. But be has evolved into a young man making his dream come true. So kudos to you Will keep on giving us premium content. Along with the rest of grindhard plumbing co.
its so awesome watching Will grow into his skills!!
Will, you seem so much more confident these days, man! It’s awesome to see you growing into your own. Sick build as always 🤘
Wills fab skills have improved significantly!! great job bud!
Will, outstanding progression in fabrication skills and very cool project. Edwin, awesome edit. Ethan, nice work on establishing a new measurement system.
Hells yeah!!! Right when I finish watching some back catalog vids, boom... New vid drops.
Will has came a long way and it’s nice to see his progress rapidly growing
This is going to be an absolute animal. Will's fabrication skills are coming along in leaps and bounds. I can't wait to see how he tackles the swing arm. Keep up the good work guys 👏👏
Can't wait to see it finish. Great job Will.
OMG... Can't wait to see more of this guys. Nice work so far
Great job guys, can't wait to see the finished Solobusa 🙌
Love seeing Will getting better and better🚀🥇🏆 Keep up the steep learning curve 💪🏼
Will's subframe came out fantastic, huge step-up from the Chang-Lee.
So stoked for this project. Will does remarkable work too.
Wills fab work has got so much better. What a wild creation yall have crafted together
Would love to be building this beast along with Will. It would be one for the bucket list. As an agri-mechanic from Norway this would be the dream!
Dang you guys have a good Imagination with the skills to match!! Love watching your videos
My guys, you came through w the EV update, i needed this today 😂😂🤙🏼
Freaking mint job on the engine mounts. Very well thought out and proper. I am SUPER jealous of the arcdroid I try winning one every contest 😂. You make it very obvious how damn handy that thing is. You guys kick ass keep up the good work fellas!!
is real good to see will actually making something that looks like it's not going to break I can remember starting to watch this channel when will couldn't make nothing and it always break now it looks like my child has grown up
This will be so sweet! Amazing pipework dude!
Can’t wait for the rest of this Saga!!!!❤
will is really coming along with his skills, he's getting really good with the tube frames
great to see the advancement in Wills' creative thinking. Moving from straight lines to ergonomically pleasing bends that look like designed parts. Leaving wiggle room in his brackets show he has learned from making things too tight too perfect and having to extend holes when they don't quite line up. Slotted holes are fine once the bolts are tight. He's doing stuff I was doing 20-30 years ago but with much more modern tools, CAD and plasma cutters would only have been a dream for me, although they existed it was still a gas axe and a grinder for my limited tool budget. I have to admit to pangs of jealousy watching you guys build this stuff. I miss it so much, enjoy it while you're still young.
I was watching an older video the other day and I ahve to say, Will's skills evolution is definitely "Premium". Can't wait to see the results.
It's awesome to see how much Will has progressed with his fabrication skills from just one year ago. Great job willy
Just love Will and his nutty ideas and he’s funny to 👍keep up the good work dude ! It’s premium
New merch… Willz Skillz! Your fab work is really looking great man! 👍🏼
I look forward to your videos! Thank you for filming these awesome crazy builds!
It's been awesome to watch Will's progression on fab work! It's been rather rapid as well. PREMIUM stuff hoss!
Good job on that frame for the engine, looks really nice. Someday i would like to have the place and ability to do stuff like that.
Can't wait for the part 2. 😁💪🏻
Man will has come SOOO far as a fabricator, honestly he did great on that subframe
Best part of the day is seeing a grind hard upload
Just Awesome Video, Nice Work! Looking Forward For The Next One 🎉🎉
Its so nice to see will progress in his craft
OH NO. I wanted this to be one of those hour-long videos that mostly completed the build. Now I feel like I only watched part of a GH video!
glad you boys are already enjoying the NEW GARAGE lesssgo!!
My friends think that you guys are crazy, but I don't care because you guys make my day complete.
Those batteries are insane. I'd love to see them mounted to the roof of the Chang Li.
I was really hoping you were going to put an OP electric motor in the Solo, but this works too.
The music was especially banging this episode!
Don't chuck any of the electrics or anything from this, send it off to Aging Wheels so he has backup parts for his 2 cars.
I really love watching Will's builds get better and better with each one, he has a totally different ethos to stuff.
Even the skyes cried with the dismantle of such a nice bike. Heartless.😮💨
