I agree with your thoughts on Project L. It is phenomenal! As for Onitama, I've owned it for 2 or 3 years, but still haven't played it yet. I really need to get that one to the table!
Love Project L! And I hope you get a chance to try Onitama. It’s great. If you have an android or iPhone device, there is even a free app that you can download. At least it was free a year ago when I got it.
Excellent list. Several are new games to me. “Six” looks like a neat game. How many tiles does each player have and what is a typical game length for you?
Each player has 19 hexes. I would say between 10-15 minutes for a game, depending on how thinky players can get. A couple of very experienced players could go back and forth blocking each other for up to 20 minutes perhaps. It would be pretty easy to recreate it if you wanted to try it before you bought it. The rules are posted to the game’s page on BGG.
Fun overview (as always). I agree ... it is HARD to define what an abstract game is ... so you can make it what you want! I would add a game that is a FUN and strategic spin on tic tac toe ... Gobblet on the Go (aka Gobblet Gobblers) ... and a very visual game called Pentago where you actually turn a quarter of the board 90 degrees! Both of these are fantastic and very simple to learn but hard to master (as Bethany would say). Actually ... thinking about it ... we have THREE of the Gobblet to Go games and we have TWO of the Pentago games here! Must be good, eh?
Ooo, I've played Pentago, and really enjoyed it. We haven't heard of Gobblet on the Go, but I'll keep an eye out for it. It sounds like it would be a good time. :)
I like Hive and Omitama too. Getting Project L next month off of Kickstarter, but so far my all time favorite abstract is still Yinsh. Terrific video as always. Thanks.
Really enjoying your channel. Just discovered it yesterday. :)
Thank you! That means a ton. We’re having a blast, and hopefully it shows. 😄

Thanks for the kind words! Yinsh is great! I need to pick up a copy next time I see one at my FLGS.
Hey! That's My Fish is good but Battle Sheep replaced that game for me.
Oh interesting. I haven’t played that one yet. I’ll add it to the list of games to check out!
Hey, I'll tell you where you are wrong
...
That's MY fish!
Woah woah woah, that’s my fish!
Kulami
Nice choice! I wish we owned this one.
